Mineta knew from a very young age he was attractive. All the girls at school refused to let him forget it.
When his quirk had appeared, it threatened Mineta's appearance. However, the quirk had affected his hair in such a way that made it more curly. This made him even more attractive to his classmates.
All throughout elementary and middle school, multitudes of females had confessed to him, leaving love notes in his locker, cornering him somewhere private, the list went on and on.
Sometime during middle school, he consulted the internet on why he never felt attracted to any girl, even when he groped them.
Gay.
Mineta was gay.
It didn't surprise him all that much to be honest. He always did feel that some boys were hot and/or cute.
He applied to UA, the top hero school in Japan. Of course, he got in. Everyone in his class had chimed in to set up a farewell party for Mineta.
A lot, and he means a lot, of confessions happened at that party, and he decided that was a great time to come out to his class.

As he stood outside the school, he prepared for his new school life.
Mineta took his first step towards becoming a hero.
"I can't believe it's the first day of school and we're already missing important stuff!" A blond boy with a lightning bolt in his hair complained, directly after the boys all walked into the locker room. He wasn't the best looking male there, but he wasn't the worst. What was his name? Calamari?
"Eh, we can't really change anything," Another boy with spiked up red hair responded, shrugging his uniform off.
Wait.
He was in a locker room with fifteen at the very least moderately attractive boys.
Oh yes.
The blond from earlier accidentally bumped him onto the small green haired boy.
Mineta had grown to be a superb 177 centimeters, making him tower over this approximately 166 centimeter boy. He slowly wrapped his arms around the smaller boy's chest.
"Um, can you let go?"
"Why? You're so cute. It'd be a shame to let you go."
Everyone stopped changing for a moment.
