Students who want to be an engineer and their parents, come across various different engineering streams for admissions in Engineering colleges. But, the two streams that confuse them are aerospace engineering and aeronautical engineering. Both field is interrelated but not the same field.
Students who want to do engineering have various options to pursue engineering in various branches.
But most students get confused between astronautical engineering and aeronautical engineering.
Aerospace engineering is a stream which is divided into astronautical engineering and aeronautical engineering. Aeronautical engineering is a part of Aerospace. Aeronautical Engineering deals with the design, development, and maintenance of aircraft. Aeronautical engineering, on the other hand, is related to mechanical engineering.
On the other aerospace engineering is the toughest branch of engineering. There is no scope of error in aerospace engineering. The high degree of concentration, dedication, and precision is required in this field.
Aeronautical engineering deals with airplanes and helicopters. The job offers are mostly in ISRO and NASA.
There is very few institutions that offer astronautical engineering. Job opportunities are less in this field and most of the companies hire post graduate because this work require precision. So doing a master can help you get a job in this field.
Skills you required to become successful aerospace engineers include strong analytical, critical thinking and best mathematical skills. Also, logical thinking and problems solving skills are also needed.
If you are passionate about spacecraft and aircraft this field is for you.
