I had just arrived at Melissa and Matt's party and you could hear the music and see the lights from streets away. Everyone was drinking and being complete idiots. Some people were in the house and some where in the pool. I put my skateboard in a cupboard under the stairs and went into the back garden managing to dodge everyone. It seems like Melissa and Matt had invited everyone from school, well everyone except Ellie. I eventually found Cameron and the other boys by the pool chucking girls in. "Oh, Jamie you made it to the party of the century," Cameron laughed as all the boys jumped in the pool.
"Yeah I did. Where's Melissa?" I suddenly felt someone grab my arm so I quickly grabbed their arm, twisted around and yanked it forward. "Is that how you say hello to people at your old school mate?"
"Only to people who beat me up the night before."
"Well where was these moves last night? I mean you could have impressed me even more. Now can I please have my arm back?" Matt said and I let go.
"What do you want?"
"Melissa has been looking for you so if you'd like to follow me." He started to walk back into the house and without even thinking I followed. I don't know why I did, I mean he beat the life out of me and now I'm trusting him to lead me to Melissa instead of to his stupid friends so they can finish me off. "So, when did you learn that move?" Matt asked.
"I took some self-defence classes years ago; it was my mum's idea."
"So where were they last night?"
"I only learnt a few basic moves." He didn't reply. Years ago, I got into a fight with someone from my old school and my mum panicked and instantly made me take self-defence classes but it was only lasted a month before she forgot all about it and I quit. I learned about three moves and they only work if the other person does something. "Here you go." Matt said, "now I'm off to parta." Melissa was stood next to the drinks table wearing booty shorts and a black laced halter neck with her hair in tight curls, "hey hun."
"Melissa."
"You want a drink?"
"No thanks, I grabbed a drink on the way."
"Oh, well you could always have coke and vodka if you wanted?"
"No thanks. I don't drink."
"Weird. I mean what's a party without some alcohol." I laughed and shook my head at her, you don't need to be drunk to have fun. I followed Melissa back out to the garden where we met up with the group. I joined in with all of the games and dancing and just general fun. I even got into the pool but not by choice as to my annoyance Cameron thought it would be hilarious to push me in. Melissa and Nicole helped me get him back and chucked a bucket of ice over him.
I had been at the party for almost three hours now. It was somewhat fun. "Alex and Matt are back," Nicole shouted. I didn't even realise Alex was here. "Finally, we have more booze," someone screamed. Alex and Matt both walked into the garden carrying massive boxes, more alcohol was stupid seeing as everyone was already completely smashed. "Where do you want these sis?"
"Me and Nicole will take them into the kitchen," they took the boxes and left me alone with Alex and Matt. I stood there in silence giving Alex the death stare. "You two want a drink?" Matt asked.
"No!" Me and Alex both said in a growly tone. I hated Alex the most. He's Ellie's brother. He should stand up for her and protect her like a brother should do. He could stop his friends picking on her. "Where did you find her?" Alex interrogated.
"She was on the roof like you said."
"Who? Ellie? Did you not listen to us after last night?" Matt shouted.
"He had her phone and needed to give it back to her, I'm guessing he was smart and left straight after." Alex said,
"good I can let that slide meaning I won't have to beat you up." What was that about? Either Alex wasn't really listening to Ellie when she said she was coming out with me or he just lied to Matt's face but why would he? Also, he knew I wasn't just looking for her to give her phone back. "No one is beating up anyone at my party especially my friend here," Melissa shouted as she came back over.
"Don't worry little sis, no one is beating up anyone because someone is going to stay away from someone else."
"What's going on?"
"Don't worry," I replied.
"You lot better not be picking on Jamie" Melissa moaned.
"No. No. But Melissa I think we should have a little chat," Matt said as they walked off. Suddenly, a bad air rolled in and something felt off. What are they up to?
Ten minutes had passed and Melissa was back. "Melissa I'm going to head home," I stated.
"Oh okay. Let me walk you out as I have something to tell you."
"Sure." We walked out and got to the end of the road. What was she going to tell me? She stopped and started to say, "I need to tell you something about Ellie." Oh my god, here we go. What's she going to say? Is she going to say that Ellie escaped from an asylum or that she has a hidden leg or something? She leaned in and told me the last thing I expected. I was completely stunned. My mind was filled with billions of questions. Does Ellie know? Who else knows? Is it true or is Melissa making it up? Do I tell Ellie or not? "I thought you would like to know, Matt just told me. Ellie doesn't know." Before I could say anything Melissa ran off back to the party. Why would she tell me? I decided to go home and sleep on it and decide in the morning whether I talk to her about it or not? What if I tell her and is breaks her?
