Point of View: Logan, Third Person
Timeline: Flashback (cont.)

"So I have a proposition for you," Logan offered hesitantly.

"Do you now? Do tell," Dee murmured around his coffee mug, glancing up that him over the rim in a way that made Logan's heart flutter just at the sight of it.

The two of them were on an impromptu coffee date.  The faint murmured of voices and the coffee machines helped fill any silence between the pair easily.  They had a seat by the window, the sunlight bouncing off of Logan's glasses.

"Roman's birthday is coming up," Logan started slowly, avoiding Dee's eyes and keeping his eyes trained on his tea.  "And I believe it would be an ideal environment and an advantageous opportunity for you to be introduced to my friends."

Dee was unusually quiet at the idea, the silence that followed long enough to make Logan shift in his seat and glance up at his soulmate.

Dee was staring at Logan, lips parted in shock, as if he expected Logan to suddenly change his mind.  "Oh," Dee murmured finally.  "Are you sure? It's your friend's birthday, are you sure he's alright having me there?"

"Roman, as it turned out, was very much on board with the suggestion when I brought it up to him," Logan informed.  "He seemed quite excited to meet you, all of them were actually curious as to why they hadn't met you already."

"Oh," Dee repeated, before a small hesitant smile broke out on his face.  "Um... alright then.  Of course, I'd love to meet them."

Logan's heart soared at the comforting response, He hadn't quite pinned down why exactly he was so nervous about asking Dee in the first place, but he supposed it didn't matter much now.

"You've never mentioned any of your friends," Logan noted after a moment, looking up to Dee expectantly.  "Not that I want to pressure you in any way," Logan added quickly.  "I just find it odd that they've never come up."

Dee laughed softly at that, setting his cup down.  "No, you're fine, you've done nothing wrong.  Honestly, I really don't have any friends," Dee admitted.  "I get along well with people, but... friends is a strong word.  Outside of work, I'm a bit of a loner."

"That sounds... unlike you" Logan acknowledged.  "Why not? You are far more likeable than me."

Dee shrugged, clearly unbothered.  "I don't like to get close to people.  There are only a select few people that I talk to outside of my work," Dee explained.

"That sounds awfully lonely," Logan acknowledged tentatively.

"It can be," Dee agreed, glove-covered fingers drumming lightly on the wooden table.

"Well I'm certain that you'll get along great with my friends," Logan encouraged, taking a sip of his iced coffee.

Dee laughed softly, smiling at Logan.  "I can't wait."
