Chapter 5: Confrontations

A/N: Well, what a horrible author I have been ;) Sorry guys, had the big case of Writer's Block and I couldn't continue on with the story :( But, luckliy for you guys, I've tried to make this chapter longer so hope you enjoy it :) <3 Just a quick warning, it is an R Rated story and strong language will be used from now on. xx

Peeta was already at the car when I walked out of the doctors surgery. Even from far away, I could hear the angry slam of his car door and the heightened sound of the engine starting up. I quickly jog up to the car before he drives off without me.

I wouldn't blame him if he did.

I jump in and notice his face has become quite pale and the veins in his hands were popping out, like they were trying to break free.

"Pee-"

"Don't Katniss, just. Stop"

I turned my to head to look out the window so he wouldn't notice the waterfall of tears gushing down my face. We rode in silence for the whole 15 minutes it took us to get back to my place. I start to get out of the car before Peeta finally speaks up.

"Does he know?" his voice comes out strained and almost silent.

"No, he will never know. He will have nothing to do with this baby. You're the only one I have told and-"

"How could you Katniss? What honestly possesed you to go back near him? He ruined you! You were heartbroken for weeks! All you did was lay in bed and watch Friends re-runs and you told me you would never trust him again so Kat, tell me. What changed?"

I didn't even bother to hide my face this time as the tears came spilling out.

"I...I don't know, it was a moment of weakness. Mum & Prim were at Grammy's for the night and he messaged me saying he wanted to talk. I never got to hear what he had to say about it. I'm sorry Peeta, I am so sorry"

"Just, please, get out. I can't deal with this now. I have my own problems." That was the coldest I have ever heard Peeta sound. Even when Gale cheated on me with Madge. "and Katniss" Peeta begins to say as I get out of the car "I suggest telling Gale. Maybe if he finds out he got one of his late night cravings pregnant he would stop whoring around the place." and with that he reached to shut the door from my frozen stance and drove off.

I knew I had to compose myself before walking into the house, so I quickly went for a walk in the woods near our house. It was where Gale & I first met. But, it no longer has that meaning to me. Now its just a place I can go when I need peace and thinking time. I walk to the nearest tree and wrap my arms around it and I can remember it, clear as day.

"I can't believe you Gale! How could you!"

"Oh come one Catnip... it's not even that big of a deal!"

"NOT A BIG DEAL! GALE! We've been together for 18 months and then you cheated on me with Madge! What, was I not enough for you!? Just because I wasn't ready to do it with you, you had to go give yourself to the mayor's daughter?"

"She hasn't been the only Catnip, there's been others"

I stood there and felt my body move with the strong wind that was invading the woods.

"Others?!"

"Other girls Catnip, I've been so bored and you weren't what I was looking for... I decided to do the honourable thing so I wouldn't hurt your feelings"

"No Gale, the honourable thing would've been to break up with me, NOT cheat on me with the entire town"

"Catnip, you're being stupid. It was only 3 girls" he said with a smile as cocky as his personality.

"You know what Gale Hawthorne. Fuck you and leave me the hell alone."

I turned away before he could see my tears.

My flashback is interrupted when I hear a twig being snapped in the distance. My head flings up to see whoevers there.

"...Gale?"

"Hey Catnip. I need to talk to you."
