Clark Kent never really saw himself becoming a father- not with his alien genes- but he loved Lois Lane (now Lois Kent) and when she told him she was pregnant he couldn't have been more happy.
They had been blessed with a healthy baby girl who they decided to name Kor-El, but to the rest of the world she would be known as Clover Kent.
Lois and Clark loved their daughter very much, and wanted to keep her as safe as they could, since they had no way of knowing if she'd develop the same powers as her father. Eventually they decided that Smallville and Metropolis held far too many bad memories, and far too many enemies who knew Clark's identity to stay in Kansas. So they sadly left the area they had grown to love in order to raise their ever growing daughter in peace.
Eventually they settled down in a small town named Beacon Hills, which sat comfortably in California, far enough away from Kansas that they shouldn't have any problems with foes from the past rearing their heads.
Of course, with a new town comes new enemies.
