the day Joey's find out

So this was the night of 10th February (Monday), the day Joey will find out about them. But before the story let me introduce you with the character Joey and his roommate Chandler.

Joey:

He is the person who catches the vibes and is a guy who overthinks a lot about small things. For him, his friends matter a lot and want to be there for his friends whenever they need him. He hates two things the most. First, never lie on his face, if you don't want to share things just say cant share but never lie to him. And secondly, he likes to hear one's story from them, not from someone else. He expects his close friends to share things directly rather hearing rumours or from someone else. He is kind of person who wants to hear stories about others, want to know people and sometimes his that feeling hurts him a lot.

NOW LETS MEET

Chandler:

He is a very private and introvert person who doesn't like to share his problems with anyone. He tries to look strong but deep down he is sacred of showing his weakness to the world.

Coming back to the story, the character's nature will be updated later. Just know, they both are from the same city and study in the same college and are classmates as well as roommates.

A while back Joey came to know that Chandler was again talking to his ex. On the 8th of January, while Joey was having dinner with his other roommate Shawn, Chandler came and told them that something happened and was waiting for Sam to tell them the story. Sam was a great storyteller and his expressions while he tells the story used to be amazing ones. So when Sam came he amazingly told the story with lots of facial expressions. He said he saw Monica and Chandler hugging each other. And those words brought a smile on Joey's face. He turned to Shawn and told him to remember what I said in August. Well, Joey has predicted it way back in August. When they returned to their room, Joey asked him to share the details which were interrupted because of the arrival of their fourth roommate Garry. They were not so close to Garry. Joey wanted to know the things but he gave time to Chandler. The next day, after their classes were over, Chandler didn't come to the room but went to Rocky's house. Joey knew that something was off but he decided to give time and space to Chandler. He knew Chandler was upset because of yesterday's event and was also busy with his ex. He knew that things were going to be difficult as Chandler will keep things to himself and this will keep hurting Joey as he won't be able to help Chandler. Joey uses to write things in his diary when he gets sad so on 9th he wrote in his diary.

Time flew by, Joey kept himself busy in extracurricular activities as he didn't want to be in his room where he would be seeing Chandler and things will remind him about how helpless he is. He tried to talk to Chandler but Chandler never shared so he decided to give him space as he was sure about one thing that whatever happens Chandler will never lie to him. But it never happened and the situation became something like they both start ignoring each other for a few days.

Then came 10th February, it was around 11:15, Sam came to their room and went to Chandler as he was busy in his phone talking to his ex.

NOW, FROM Joey'S POINT OF VIEW:

I saw Sam taking the earphone and talking on the phone so I thought it will be of someone's they knew. When I went to him, Chandler asked me not to speak while Sam was talking. I took the other piece of an earphone. I tried to get the phone on speaker so that all three of us can hear. While doing so I saw the name and the call duration. It was of someone else but I recognized the voice on the phone which was of Monica. I didn't understand what was going so I decided to leave. I returned to my bed. When Sam was leaving, I asked him, "why was her name stored as someone else?". He replied, " Because he does not want anyone else to know whom he was talking to".

Now, the whole story was clear to me. I realised that it was Monica whom he was talking with the last month and he told me that he was talking to his ex.

In a moment of seconds, various thought crossed my mind and I started to feel a pain in my heart. It was the pain of my trust getting scattered, it was the pain of my expectation being crushed by the bitter truth that was in front of me.

I went to him and just said that "I won't ask nor will say anything". I returned to my bed.

That night, I cried and thought where was I wrong? I gave him his space and always tried to make the situation comfortable for him so that he never need to lie to me. I doubted myself if I was a good roommate to Chandler moreover if I was a good brother to Chandler. I never thought that it will be in this way that I will come to know the thing as big as this and Sam already knew this. I was heartbroken, not because he lied but because I started doubting everything, every moment we spent in the last 2years as roommates. I felt like something was squeezing my heart. I kept on thinking why he lied to me? Was I not a good roommate or brother? I don't remember when I fall asleep but I remember that pain in my heart.
