Have you ever thought about where you would be when the world ended? I honestly never gave it much thought until the zombie apocalypse actually happened. I knew something like this would happen eventually, but I don't think anyone expected anything like this. At first, it was like any normal sickness but, then people came back. Plans were made but nothing worked. The virus never stopped or slowed down and now there isn't much left of the world. Survival is what everyone is attempting. I suppose anyone left is succeeding.

Do you want to know how I survive? Rules. They may not exist for everyone anymore but, I had to find something I could live by. Some of them even predate the outbreak but ill get to that later.

For a long time, I thought when the world ended I would be with my family trying to survive. I guess that was a pipedream. I've been surviving in Washington since it all began. I settled down in an old motel about a week ago but supplies are running short and it looks like I need to make a run for a safer hideout. I know there's a police station on the edge of town about seven miles from here. Hopefully, I can make it there quickly as long as nothing has happened to my bike. I have my bags packed and quickly double-check my room. I put on my shoes, put my swords on my back ad head for the door.  Looking through a crack in the curtains I spot my bike. None of the dead in sight, perfect.

Opening the door I find my surroundings empty and quiet. I pick up my bags and quietly close the door just in case I need to come back. I rush over to my bike making sure my bags are secure. I hop on and start it p only to hear a slight shuffling behind me. Over my shoulder, I see a small group of the undead heading straight for me. How did I not see them? Before they have a chance to reach me I speed off heading for the station.

Some times I find it hard to understand this virus. If they aren't a part of the land of the living anymore then what drives their need to spread the virus or eat humans? I guess all that matters now is surviving the apocalypse and maybe beating it one day.

The station itself is small but, it should make a good temporary home once I can secure. It should but me some time to scavenge some supplies before I need to move on.

I turn off my bike and walk over to the doors. Using the back of one of my knives I lightly tap on the door.  Something inside is shuffling around. A zombie starts for the door and it sees me. It rushes for the door banging on it.  It seems to be the only one so I open the door and let it stumble out at me. It's body is in shambles and falling apart. I rush forward and plunge my knife into its head watching as the corpse falls limp.
