For my mother, and her mother

It was one of those days when everything was perfect. The sky was clear and the sun was bright. Standing on a side of a crosswalk, there was a slight breeze of cool air. There was no way something could have gone wrong. But as the saying goes, calm before the storm.

Not many people were around. Just a child with his mom and an old couple. All waiting to cross the street. But I was rather impatient. Looking at the red sign, I anticipated it to turn green. And I decided to take a step right before it turned green. When the sign did, I tried to hurry to the other side.

It was a perfect day, and I couldn't care less about my surroundings. I couldn't pay attention to a loud honk nearing and before I knew it, it was too late when my body came in contact with the vehicle. At the moment, I felt nothing and heard nothing. Was this what I got for the way I lived? Was there no longer hope? Was this the way I was going to die? I didn't know. And before I closed my eyes, I caught a glimpse of my past.

When I was young, I aspired to be many things. When I was ten, I wanted to be a musician. I discovered my talent with instruments. As I turned 14, I decided to be a cook. I liked food. What more was needed to be said. Then I graduated high school, I wanted to be an artist. The influence of peers are inevitable. But as I went to college, I decided that I was going to be the first doctor in my family. Make the family proud and make myself proud. However, that also changed. Not only my dreams, but my entire path.

And now, it may just be the end of my life. My road seemed to have decided its dead end here. As if my dreams never mattered and whatever path I took wouldn't have changed anything.

"Miss, miss are you alright?" I heard someone say. Probably a police officer. I could finally hear the sirens now and a small crowd around me. And the pain forming around my entire body was unbearable.

"If you can hear me, please blink your eyes once" And so I did. After that, it was more people scurrying around before I got carried into an ambulance. And my thoughts ended there. I gained my consciousness here and there. The last thing I remember was my parents beside my bed.

Here with a different story. I am planning to finish my first story here too though. I just wanted this book to be here before anything else. I am a fairly new writer so any help, comments, tips and criticism are welcome, but I will not tolerate any rudeness, cussing, or any of that sort here.

Will have chapter 1 updated within a week!

Peace!
