Betty's POV
I'm at Pop's with Archie. We're talking about, specifically, school. School started up again almost two months ago. It's our final year of highschool. It's really important.
"How has school been for you lately?" Archie asked me. I just shrugged snd sighed.
"I don't know. I mean, I'm just glad that this is our last year." I told him. He smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, I heard we're getting a new student soon." He said.
"Speaking of that, I know about it. I'm supposed to give her a tour on Monday." I told him.
"The new students a girl? How do you know?" He asked. I smiled and laughed a little.
"Don't get too excited there, Arch. And I know because I'm the one showing her around the school." I said. He rolled his eyes.
"So, theres a new student, they're a girl and her first day in tomorrow. Interesting." He muttered.
"How is that interesting? It's just another person coming to our school. It may not happen that often, but it's not really anything big." I told him. He sighed.
"Yeah, I know, but like you said, it doesn't happen a lot." He repeated.
"I think you're just excited that they're a girl." I mumbled. He chuckled.
"I'm not. Besides, I think I'm seeing someone." He said. I laughed.
"You think? What do you mean by that? Do you not know if you're together or not?" I asked.
"Well," he smiled. "I dont know them yet." I rolled my eyes.
"My god, Archie! I'm gonna make sure you can get nowhere near her." I told him.
"Alright fine! I'm just kidding anyways. I would like to get to know her first. And if she doesn't like me back that's fine." He said. I sighed.
"And what makes you think she'll be your type?" I asked him. He shrugged.
"I don't know anything, but I don't want to just yet." He said.
"Archie, you're a mess. And can we please stop talking about a person we've never even met?" I asked. He chuckled.
"Fine! But can I ask you one thing?" He asked. I shrugged.
"Fine. Sure. What is it?" I asked.
"Do you know her name?" He asked.
"Even if I did, I wouldn't tell you. Now, leave it alone! I hate talking about her like this. And especially with you. Just stay as far away from her as possible." I told him. He sighed.
"Alright fine, but it's because you asked." He said. I smiled.
"Thank you! I appreciate that. Anyway, on with a new conversation, please." I said and we started to have a nice, normal conversation.
Veronica's POV
"Mom, I don't understand why we have to move!" I complained to her. I'm just glad that my stepfather isn't here to hear me complain to my mom. He hates it when I argue back with her.
"Because, Veronica, I said so. Just do as I say. Just listen, please!" She said. I rolled my eyes.
"I still don't understand why we have to move." I mumbled. She sighed, annoyed and dissapointedly. I just walked out of the room.
I just can't wait for my stepfather to get home! No. That's a lie!I never want him to again. My mom will tell him I argued with her about the move. He'll stay in my room and until She leaves or goes to bed or something. I hate him. I don't understand why She's got to tell him everything. What happens between her and I is between her and me. He doesn't have to know anything.
After a few hours, my bedroom door opened. I sighed quietly and turned around to see my stepfather. He had his usual dirty look on his face. Why did my mom even marry him? Oh, right! Because of me! I'm the reason he asked her. He asked my permission when I was seven. I was just excited. Can you blame me? I was seven and thought he was the best man in the world! At least he acted like it anyways. That was until I was nine. And when I turned Fourteen it became worse.
When I was nine he became abusive and would hit me. Giving me big and dark bruises. I was fourteen when I came out. That's when the sexual abuse started. My mom accepted it, my stepdad did not. I'm now seventeen and it's still going on. The mental, physical, emotional and sexual abuse. My mom has no idea. I've tried talking her about it, when it first started, but she didn't listen. She thought I was just looking for attention. I've just got to live through it.
"What's it going to be today?" I asked him. "Physical, emotional, mental, or sexual? Or is it all of the above?" I asked pretending to be shocked. I knew this would piss him off, but I doesn't matter. Whether I say something or not it's gonna happen. I have no control. I have no control over anything in my life. Everything is controlled by him.
He started walking over to me and I got prepared. Prepared for what was about to happen next. I took in a deep breath, then, he grabbed me and practically threw me on the bed. I immediately felt the tears in my eyes. It's been three years and I still cry every time. I need to grt over it. It's my life now. Theres nothing I can do to change that. At least, until I graduate. If I can even leave then either.
