Kalliope Anna Haan's life had taken a turn for the worse the day she found out her parents were murderers. She remembers the day clearly like it just yesterday. She was 12 sitting in her grandmother's living room reading with news channel on as background noise. While her grandmother was in the kitchen preparing lunch when she first heard their names. FRANK AND ALINA HAAN RESIDENTS OF MYSTIC FALLS FOUND SUSPECTED OF RECENT MURDERS IN VIRGINIA . There on the screen were her parents in cuffs getting taken into the police station. On the bottom of the screen it said they had been stopped by a police officer when he had noticed blood coming from trunk. He investigated the trunk where he found a dead girl with her eyes gouged out. He quickly called for backup and the rest was history. From that moment on Anna's life took a 360 degree turn.
