Ch - 8 : Player beware

Lavender(thinking):
Darkie is so confident. How can a black cat be so... so... Amazing that I can't find words to describe him... Just now, he was so near my face, and then he just walked away like nothing happen... THAT is SO COOL! I wonder why I'm wondering all this. Actually, I wonder why I'm wondering, why I'm wondering all this when I already know that I like him. But I'm still not sure about this. News flash and sudden realization : I'll now get to see him everyday! I'm working with him. And in HIS team on top of that! He's a part of my everyday life now! So, there's no chance of him, not noticing me!

When Lavender, who is lost in her thoughts, comes back to reality, she notices Darkie walking towards her.

Darkie:
Hi Lavender.

Lavender:
H-hi

(Lavender curses herself in her mind for making a bad first impression in front of Darkie by stuttering)

Darkie:
Welcome to to the group. Feel free to talk, and call me when you need me.

Lavender:
Oh, uh ok. Thanks.

Darkie(flirts):
Btw, you're very beautiful.

Lavender blushes very hard, but Darkie walks away after complimenting her, so he doesn't notice.

Lavender(thinking):
Oh my fosh! Someone pinch me! Am I dreaming? There are so many butterflies in my stomach! Did DARKIE just COMPLIMENT ME!? I'm so freaking out!

Then Lavender notices Chris walking towards her.

Chris:
Uh, Lavender? May I talk to you? I think you should know something...

Lavender:
That can wait. I want to tell YOU something. Can you keep a secret?

Chris:
Fine, you go first.

Lavender:
I guess I have a crush on Darkie! Are you happy for me?

Chris:
Oh, boy. It's just as I feared. Lavender. I would be happy for you. If it was anyone but Darkie...

Lavender(argues):
Why, what's wrong with Darkie?

Chris:
Well, Lavender everyone has a downside. And I came here to warn you about the downsides of the other group members. And about Darkie, please don't take this to heart, but he's a player. He's like an animal juggling hearts instead of balls, and he doesn't care if those hearts fall and break. They're mere balls to him. You know, Blacky didn't know about his habits when she became part of this group. She might be a dog, but she fell for him. And Darkie did nothing but break her heart. As about now, they're only friends. I don't want what happened with Blacky, to happen with any other member of this group.

After listening to all of this, Lavender feels a part of her heart break. She had never fell in love before. She did love her owner, but this was totally different.

Lavender(thinking):
I'm so naive...He got near me and flirted with me, and I fell for him...

Lavender wipes her tears.

Lavender:
Thanks, Chris. You saved me from making a big mistake.

Chris:
You're welcome. Now let me tell you about the rest of the group. Blacky is really nice, but she has some trust issues, because her heart has been broken a lot of times, Roxy is nice and caring and she really cares about herself looking good.Violet is Darkie's sister. She is nice but a bit of an introvert. I already told you about Darkie, and I'm the alpha of the group.

Lavender:
Thanks for the information Chris.

Chris:
Your welcome.

Chris walks away.

Lavender(thinking):
Blacky sounds a bit like me. She's black. She has trust issues. Her heart's been broken by Darkie.That's like me. I already noticed Roxy's addiction with looking good, when I saw her looking in the mirror, and taking a 10 minute bath, while everyone else only took a dip in the water. I still can't beleive that Darkie's a player.And I can clearly see that Violet is an introvert, because I didn't even notice her presence all this time, except the time when Chris introduced her. This is going to be interesting...
