Oh, Hi!

The Café

Blair sat up as the sunlight streamed in, the Egyptian cotton sheets slowly rolled of his shoulders as he rose. He walked briskly to the window and drew the tasteful chiffon curtains. It was a beautiful morning.

After 28 changes of shirt, Blair finally checked his phone. He was immediately greeted with the message he received last night that filled him with shear delight:
"meet me at that high-end cafe downtown at 12 - C"
He couldn't believe the man he's had a crush on since he was 10, THE Cormac Graham, had actually asked him on a date.

"Okay" Blair said to himself confidently "technically Cormac didn't say it was a date, but why else would he ask such a fine specimen of man to go to a cafe with him? He must like me too, its the only explanation." With his usual soaring self-confidence, Blair strutted out of his penthouse apartment.

~~At the café~~

Blair confidently pushed the grand double door of the fancy café open, making a flamboyant entrance. He scanned the room and quickly found the breathtakingly glistening face of his one true love. His chiselled jaw left Blair incapable of thinking, his deep blue eyes stared deep into Blair's soul. He couldn't look away even if he wanted to. Cormac beckoned Blair close as he strutted his way to the table.
"Hey" Blair mumbled, all of his previous confidence squashed out of him.
"Sup?" Cormac said in his usual nonchalant tone.
"What do you want to order?" Blair asked, trying and failing to match cormac's level of casual, "I'll pay."
"Not necessary," Cormac said matter-of-factly.
Blair sat down confused. Had he already ordered for them? How did he know what Blair would want? After all, he's very particular about what he drinks.
"What?" Cormac said bluntly
"Nothing" Blair responded sheepishly.
They sat in silence. Cormac stared at various points of the coffee shop, whilst Blair stared right into Cormac's eyes.

Blair had just lost all sense of himself when a woman placed two large mugs on the table
"thank yo-" Blair began, but stopped when he recognised the barista. "T-Tess? I've not seen you in ages! I didn't know you worked here." Blair said happily. Before tess could respond, Cormac interrupted her.
"She doesn't" he said calmly.
"oh" Blair remarked, "so what brings you here?"
"Cormac?" tess looked utterly confused, then a wash of realisation slowly painted across her face. "oh my god, you didn't tell him did you?" tess questioned Cormac.
"No sorry" Blair had never heard Cormac sound so sincere before "I wanted it to be a surprise"
"what's a surprise" Blair inquired.
"Welllll" Tess walked up behind cormac, put her arms round his shoulders and planted a kiss on his cheek. "that answer your question" Tess looked at Blair expectantly.

Blair's face fell. The man he loves, his soul mate, is in a relationship with Tess Wilson.
