Lyra Realm
"Bree, go to the left. Poppy, backup. Attack the top of its head, that's the weak spot!"
The girl with white blonde hair split to the left with flames at her palms, waiting for the right moment to attack. An invisible shield surrounded her.
<Bree, distract it with your flames. We will attack its head> A voice sounded in the girls' head.
Bree commanded her flames to create a ring of fire around the dark green monster. It was eight feet tall, hard scales that could withstand knife attacks protected its body, the two horns at the two corners of its head was where the power was centralised. It could shoot bouts of magic from the two horns, that's why the monster was so protective of its head.
It roared in agitation, not being able to leave the ring. A whip wrapped itself around the monster's leg and pulled it towards the ginger-haired girl. Her whip glowed as she willed the whip to tighten around the monster's leg, increasing its pain with every struggle. The monster, fed up with its restricted movement, suddenly gained enough energy to pull against the whip; she struggled to keep a hold and break his movement.
A three feet long icicle dropped on the monster's head, accurately cutting through its weak spot and pining the monster down into the ground. A figure walked out from behind the icicle.
"Okay, that took too long." The ginger head said.
"This time the monster had a bout of energy burst at the last moment. What could it be?" Bree questioned as she put out the flames.
"I'll tell my Dad about it later." Poppy said as she pulled out a dark purple cube from her ring.
"Wait, since we are out, I wanna go somewhere." Bree stopped Poppy from activating the cube.
"Yeah, I've been meaning to head to the store." The ginger head agreed.
"Lia?" All of them looked towards the girl with dark green hair.
"Regroup back here in an hour"
"Yes! See ya!" Bree sped off.
"Poppy, wanna go to the store with me?"
"Sure, what about Lia?" Both turned to the empty space where Lia was standing.
Outside a house
A mother and father sat at the porch of their house, talking to each other. A young man came out of the house and chatted with them for a while before heading out.
A distance away, a figure stood by watching them before disappearing. The speed was so fast, all there was left to see were pale gray wisps.
Outside a school
"Hey, can you talk to Mom about school?" A young boy was jumping about, talking to an older boy and girl.
"No." The older boy answered.
"But what's the point of going to school when I know that it won't help?" The young boy was exasperated by the lack of cooperation from his siblings.
"You should tell Mom that." The girl pointed out.
"I want to be part of the Verndari. I don't need to go to school for that."
"Good luck in telling Mom that."
"Come on, Austin, help me out here. Why do you get to join the Verndari, while I can't?" the young boy whined.
"Firstly, I'm not technically in the Verndari. Secondly, why don't you take this up with Dominus? I'm sure Mom can't say anything to him."
