"We broke up." Upon hearing what your best friend, Jieun announced, your eyes widened in pure shock mixed with surprise.
"What? What happened?" You were curious as you asked this subtle question which Jieun let out a bitter chuckle.
"Turned out that our relationship isn't as perfect as I thought it would be." There a brief pause as she took a deep breath before explaining.
"I mean... Jungkook and I don't do things what couples usually do. And I know that we are busy just because of our work life. But that's it... being distant towards each other." You emitted a sympathetic sigh as you clearly heard what Jieun had explained which it was obvious to you.
Of course, you noticed about her and Jungkook not spending time together and that he didn't have time for dating or spending time with her. It saddened her so much due to the point that she felt that she's not good enough for him.
But... for what Jieun herself didn't know that you... were in love with Jungkook.
Yes, it's been four years since you had developed your feelings for him. That you've been wanting all by yourself. But deep down, you knew that Jungkook didn't reciprocate the feelings when he dated Jieun three years ago. And of course, you were heartbroken, feeling so lost just because of it.
And at this present, your feelings for Jungkook didn't wavered. And that you were hoping one day... that he would return his feelings; which it didn't happen.
And that's when you knew... that it's time to move on.
"Y/N?" You were snapping out of your thoughts as you heard Jieun calling you with her worried tone. You blinked your eyes while looking at her.
"Sorry, you were saying?" You asked since you didn't hear a thing what Jieun said. She let out a annoyed sigh.
"I said, do you wanna go to the party at Chanyeol's penthouse?" Jieun questioned as you thought for a moment before giving her a nod.
"Yeah, sure." You said softly. Jieun formed a smile as she stood up from the couch only to take out her phone and dial Chanyeol's number and to inform him that you and her would be there.
You leaned against the couch, looking at the ceiling while thinking of what you could do next.
"It'll be best to forget my feelings for Jungkook... once and for all."
