There once was a dandelion who was named Mary. She lived next to a red rock, under a rainbow in a town called, Blooming. Mary was a beautiful dandelion who was coveted by all the other dandelions.
Mary was very picky about what type of dandelions she chose to like though. She didn't like the tall ones, they were hard to see. Nor did she like the bright ones, they hurt her eyes.
Mary lived a lush life, as she could have any dandelion she wanted at the snap of her petals. After years of living like this Mary soon got bored of all the usual dandelions living in her town.
One night, after the usual mingling with a random dandelion, Mary felt unsatisfactory. Mary looked up at the brightest star in the sky and said, "I want something new; I want someone new." She looked around quickly to see if anything had changed, but it didn't. "You suck star!" She screamed at the sky and closed her eyes and went to bed.
The next morning Mary was awaken by a strong wind. "Ugh, what is this wind? Why do you pester me so?" She asked the wind.
"We brought a new seed for your old town, hey look, here it comes now!" Responded the wind. And indeed the wind was correct, for within a second a small dandelion seed flew right by Mary's rock.
"A new someone!!!" Mary exclaimed. "Thank you star, I owe you my life. Now let's see, where is this seed going to land? Please! please! please! Be close to me." As if hearing her pleads the seed landed besides a green rock, right next to Mary's.
As soon as the seed touched the dirt, a female dandelion sprouted out. She was a short, flatter dandelion but when Mary saw her, it was love at first sight.
Mary worked up her courage to go over to her new neighbors house and introduce herself, however it took her a day to build up that courage.
When the time came for her to talk to her new neighbor she stood awkwardly until the dandelion looked at her.
Mary quickly screamed, "Hello neighbor, my name is Mary." However the dandelion gave no response so Mary followed up with "I'm so happy you moved here, want to come over to my rock for some fresh sun?"
"No thank you I'm busy." She responded and quickly turned the other way. Mary watched her for a long time wondering how she could woo the new dandelion. Until Mary saw her arch enemy Kelly walking up to her new neighbors door.
"I hate that Kelly." Mary grumbled and quickly walked over to her.
"What are you doing here, Mary?" Kelly said, as she looked her up and down.
"Saying hello to my neighbor, what are you doing here?" Mary sassily responded.
"Picking her up for a date." She sneered back. "Here she comes now. Hi sweetie, you ready to go to the falls?" She told Mary's new neighbor.
"Of course." She responded without even looking at Mary. "Let's go." And together they walked away.
"I wish Kelly would fall right off the falls, good riddance to her." Mary said in spite.
She walked back to her rock and went to take a nap, for she didn't know what else to do. When she awoke, it was to the sounds of screaming.
Wiping the sleep out of her eyes Mary looked up just in time to see a giant hand reaching for her. It ripped her out of the ground and threw her in a giant basket along with other dandelions she recognized, although half were dead. Mary looked to her left and saw her first boyfriend Kyle, he was struggling to hold on to life like the other dandelions. She looked right and saw her new neighbor, she looked dead but, Mary couldn't tell because she was losing consciousness and before she knew she was blacked out.
When Mary awoke she was in a vase with twelve other dandelions, including her new neighbor.
"What happened where are we?" Mary said in panic.
"You don't know?"
"We're in hell."
"We are going to die"
"I don't wanna do this."
"Where are my kids!! Where are they? Sarah! Kyle!"
So many voices screaming all at once. Until one cut in.
"It was the spaceship, it came here. The Aliens kidnapped us all, but we will slowly die since we aren't connected to the earth."
Quickly Mary located the sound of that voice over the screaming of the others. It was her new neighbor.
"What's your name?" Mary asked her.
With a deep sigh she said, "My name is Lady, but that isn't important right now, is it?"
All of a sudden all the screaming stopped.
"They're here..." a dandelion whispered.
Two aliens slowly walked into the room.
"I heard it I swear to you Hellen. The voice said they owed me their life." Said one alien.
"You're being crazy Franklin. You made us land on this planet for a silly dream, and all we find are some yellow weeds!" She gestured towards the dandelions. "I never should have married you. I'm going back to Marslake, with or without you." And with that, she stormed out of the room.
"Fine Hellen, lets go." Franklin responds and follows her out.
Within a minute they heard a loud sound and saw a giant metal rock, fly away into the sky.
"We're going to die." A dandelion slowly said. "WE ARE GOING TO DIE!"
Suddenly everyone broke into panic. Mary looked at Lady and said, "I know this isn't the ideal place or time but, do you want to make the most of this and pretend this is a date?"
She slowly stared at Mary, thinking about how crazy she sounded, then realized, this was probably the end. After what felt like ten years she slowly responded saying, "why not."
So together they had a first and last date. They quickly bonded and within an hour were deeply in love.
"I wish we had more time together." Lady said. "I wish..." she stopped and started crying.
Quickly hugging her, Mary said, "Spending a minute with you is a lifetime I would give up."
"I'm so sleepy." Lady said, "I think I can fall asleep in your arms. I love you." And she closed her eyes.
"I'll hold you till the end of time. I love you too." Mary said softly and after those words she too, closed her eyes and slept.
The next morning, neither of them awoke. For they were in an eternal slumber together, and in love.
