Part 32

I was so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep. The house was quiet, which comforted me. I heard the creak of foot steps and heard the door close. Lilly must be going out for a midnight jog. I got up from the bed and went into the kitchen. Little JP was making me hungry. I opened the fridge and pulled out some eggs, when I was done I sat on the couch and ate them. I was doing fine until I felt a wave of sickness come over me. The eggs were coming back up so I ran to the bathroom and hovered over the toilet. Just when I thought the morning sickness was ending. I got up off of the floor, splashed water on my face, brushed my teeth, and made my way back to the bedroom. I slid into bed but I still couldn't sleep so I grabbed Josh's tablet and read an E-book. I got so carried away into reading that I didn't notice the light creep into the room. It was 8:35 and I was slowly falling asleep, until I heard the front door open. Now that I think about it I don't remember hearing anyone come in the house last night, which means that Lilly pulled an all nighter. I got up out of bed quietly and opened the door. Lilly was making her way towards the guest room.
"Someone's up early." I said.
"Oh Paris yeah, I went for a morning jog."
"Wow, I gotta admit being a bad liar runs in the family. So where were you?"
"You're not my mom you know."
"Stop holding out on me. Where have you been all night?"
"How'd you know I was out all night?"
"These walls are thin Lilly Pad."
"Can we talk about this later because no offense you look like shit."
"Yeah yeah but you look worse."
With that I closed the door and climbed into bed. Five minutes later Josh's alarm goes off.
"Turn it off." I groan.
The sound stops and the bed shifts.
"I'll be back later." Said Josh while kissing my forehead.
I was too tired to talk so I just growled. I tried to think about where he was going but I was so tired I slipped into sleep. When I woke up it was 12 o'clock so I went into the guest room and slid under the covers.
"I could've been naked you know." Lilly said.
"So, you act like I have never seen you naked before."
"touché."
"Anyways you have a story to tell me."
She sat up in bed and ruffled her hair with her hand. She then smiled and started talking .
"Okay so as you probably know I went out for a late night run because I couldn't sleep."
"Yeah I heard the door open and close last night."
"I was so in my thoughts that I wasn't paying attention and your neighbor Jake helped me out when I fell and hurt my knee. I lost track of time and wound up falling asleep."
"Oh so you met Jake? You should know Josh despises him."
"Josh is just jealous, but I think I'm in love French Fry."
"I thought you were in love with Troy?"
"You remember his name?" She gasped.
"Only the ones that you're serious about."
"I thought I loved Troy but as soon as I saw Jake my feelings for him vanished," She turned her body towards me and continued "How did you know Josh was the one?"
"As soon as he came into the diner and swept me off my feet. I guess you can say love at first sight."
"That's how I'm starting to feel about him. I just don't want to rush it."
"Any man would be lucky to have you Lilly pad."
"Aw I love you too. Now lets get dressed so we can go eat, you know how NaNa and mama K get when we're late."
We got out of the bed and I went back into Josh's bedroom to get some clothes, honestly me and Lilly need to go shopping because I'm running out of cute outfits. Just then my door opened and Lilly's head popped into the room.
"Ah just the person I wanted to see." I said.
"That's funny I was gonna say the same thing. Lemme wear your blue sundress, it'll go perfect with my sandals."
"Only if you let me wear your American Eagle shorts with your black cami."
"Done." She said while going to her room.
I handed her the dress while she handed me the shorts and the cami. After we were done getting ready I grabbed the house keys and we walked to Nana's house.
"Why are you guys late?"
"I had to take care of something. I'm sorry Nana."
"Well you're here now, lets go eat."
We talked about baby names, mostly girl names, which caused a big argument.
"Guys it doesn't matter what sex the baby is as long as it's healthy." I said.
"Aw baby, you're right. I'll stop. Anyways where's Josh?" My mom said.
"I have no idea. He left before I woke up."
"You have no idea?"
"Nope, maybe he's out eating." I shrugged.
"A good wife would call and check up on him."
"Mom I'm not his wife."
She gave me a stern look so I got up off of the couch and went outside on the porch. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and dialed Josh's number.
"Hey babe my mom wanted me to call and check up on you." I sighed.
"Who is this?" A female voice came from the other end of the phone.
I looked at my phone again, I didn't dial the wrong number.
"I'm the one that should be asking that question."
"Well that's too bad sweetie, I beat you to it."
"Where the hell is Josh and who is this."
"Joshy isn't here right now he's busy."
"Joshy? Well how about this you tell me where Josh is. I'm not going to be nice for long."
"Aw but I'm just starting to have fun Paris."
"I'm really tired of playing games," I said while grinding my teeth "cut the crap. Who is this?"
"The name's Raven."
With that the phone call ended. I tried calling back but it went straight to voicemail. That bitch turned his phone off. I was so angry, who did she think she was and why the hell was she on Josh's phone?
After I had calmed down some I went back into the house. I told everyone that I wasn't feeling well and that I was going to go home.
"You want me to come with you?" Lilly asked.
"No I'll be fine it's probably just gas."
I said my goodbyes and left. I got home took a shower, got into my pajamas, and went to lay down in bed. It was almost 5:30 when I heard the front door open, I knew it had to be Josh because Lilly texted me and told me she would be home around 8. The bedroom door opened and the lights flipped on.
"Gosh babe, you scared me." Josh chuckled.
I kept my mouth closed and I didn't even look in his direction. He came over and tried to kiss me but I moved away.
"What's wrong?" He questioned.
"Nothing."
He sat down on the edge of the bed and faced me.
"Tell me."
"Where were you today?"
He hesitated for a second and then told me that he went hunting.
"Hunting with who?"
"It was just me."
"That's funny because I called your phone today and some girl answered your phone."
"You sure it wasn't the wrong number?"
"You sure you wanna keep lying to me?"
I was furious, what is he trying to hide and why is he trying to hide it? We've had this discussion before about him lying and I'm done.
"I have my reasons for not telling you things." He said.
"No you don't, have you forgotten I'm carrying your child? You know what I can't keep doing this, we can't keep doing this. I want you to leave."
"Are you seriously putting me on the couch?"
"Matter of fact this is your house, so I'll leave."
I got up, grabbed a couple of clothes, put them in a bag, and walked towards the bedroom door. Josh stood in front of the door with his arms crossed over his chest.
"You're not going anywhere."
"Move out of my way Josh or I swear this won't end well."
"Paris I'm not letting you leave, it's dangerous out there."
"All you care about is yourself."
"Now we know that's not true."
"Then who's Raven?" I questioned.
"It's complicated."
"Then move." I picked up my hand and swished it to the side.
When I did this it pushed Josh out of my way and onto the bed. I held my hand up towards him so it was flat and he froze right where he was.
"You will remain frozen until I say so."
After casting the spell I left the house and went over to Jake's house. I hope he has fun with his fling or whatever she is. I knocked on the front door and waited for a response. When the door opened I was facing Lilly, in Jake's T-Shirt, I smirked but she frowned.
"You're just a lucky little witch aren't you? Two stories in one day whoopie."
