I woke to the wonderful sound of my alarm clock filling my room. I sighed then sat up. I realized I was still in clothes from yesterday and a I have one more blanket on my bed then I did before I fell asleep. Grandma must have came in last night. I crawled out of bed and shuffled into the hallway and to the bathroom. I turned on the shower water then stepped in. I washed my hair and body before stepping back out. I got dressed then brushed my teeth. I didn't mess with my wet, tangled hair. I wore a plane T-shirt and jeans with ugg boots. I put on my jacket and pulled the hood over my head. I poured myself a bowl of cereal before grandpa came into the kitchen. Without a word he began brewing some coffee. "Good morning" he finally said. "Hi" I said quietly then shoved half a spoon full of cereal in my mouth. "Where were you yesterday?" "Mrs Cape asked me to stay late at school again" I replied. He nodded without making eye contact then took a small sip of coffee. "The school usually calls" he said after a moment. "Well I guess they forgot this time" I said annoyingly then poured my cereal down the garbage disposal. "You nearly ate any of it" he argued. "I wasn't hungry" I mumbled then grabbed my book bag of the floor and slung it over one shoulder. "Your grandma and I are getting worried. You nearly eat and you've lost a lot of weight" be stated. "Don't be worried. I just don't get big appetites" I softened my voice to sound more plausible. He frowned then took another sip of coffee. "Bye" I said then began walking out the door. I walked out into the wet autumn day. It rained last night so everything was muddy and wet. The ground was covered in Orange leaves that stuck flatly to the wet ground. The sky was grey and foggy making my mood worse then what it already was. I sighed and cleared my mind. I pulled out my phone and headphones. I put them in each ear and turned the volume all the way up before climbing on the bus.

After school

None of my teachers asked me to stay. That was weird. I decided to take a detour to the park. The ground was still wet and covered in leaves. The air was humid and soft breezes of wind blow in my face. I sat on one of the par benches ignoring the fact that they were wet. I put my face in my hands and began balling. I felt fine five minutes ago but then I realized nothing was distracting me from my thoughts. I eventually returned home. Grandma and grandpa were on the couch watching some kind of cooking Chanel. "Hello Cassie" grandma exclaimed as she saw me walk in. "Hi" I simply said while bypassing the living room and straight to my room. Before I could make it to my door I hear "Cassie?" I stop and turn around. Grandma pats the space next to her on the couch. I sigh before walking over and sitting down between her and grandpa. "We wanted to talk to you about you behavior" grandma began. "What about it?" I asked innocently. "We talked to some...professionals about your behavior and actions and they said you should start considering counseling" grandpa added. "I already finished counseling" I said. "Yes but that was a long time ago and it didn't seem to have much effect" "and you think it will now?" I asked. She didn't reply. I sighed with a feeling of gilt sitting in my stomach. "Talking about my parents won't do anything but make it worse" I said while standing up. "We don't know what else to do Cassie!" Grandpa yelled. "Your not eating, socializing and your grades are failing! Your not the same girl you once were! You have left us no choice. We can't take this anymore!" He added. I didn't say anything. I was at a loss of words at my grandpas sudden outburst. I just backed away before running out the house completely. "Cassie!" Grandma years after me but I just kept running.
