1. Try to make your oc a little nice, everyone in the show has a weak spot, even Aquamarine and Eyeball
2. Be creative, not everyone has to have killed their mom to be part gem, so be creative with the third species option I have made
3. Yes, there are specific couples I have paired based on chemistry in the show so nobody stresses about picking parents (no friggin wonder I got peridot on that gemsona test)
4. Have fun! Steven Universe is about making friends and adventure (at least it used to be) so be creative and have tons of fun!
New Species: Gemling
Gemlings are the Gem equal to human babies, and are made mostly the same way *cough* Any way! Gemlings do not take their mother's gem, they are made from their own. So if you have two gem parents, they both live after you're born. This also means you don't have the same type of gem, a Bismuth and a Pearl could make a Rainbow Opal or whatever you want ^^
Canon pairs for this book:
Ruby and Sapphire, Garnet is a permafusion. Ruby and Sapphire can split up and make a Gemling
Volleyball and Spinel, sense pearl has someone else, I'll put in a fan favorite ship that was crushed and reformed
Pearl and Bismuth, pearl doesn't completely understand feelings in future but Bismuth likes her so I'll assume they wind up together
Steven and Connie, duh, it's the only cannon ship with Steven
Blue Pearl and Yellow Pearl, Bp and Yp, they seem to like each other in the show
White is alone
Blue and Yellow (diamond) are both alone, because they are diamonds, they can just make a kid
Sadie and Shep, yes it's canon, and saying as how shep is non-binary it doesn't matter if their kid is biological or adopted
Peri and Lapis, but they are off limits so your and my oc don't have the same parents
