Um. Hi. This my first time keeping a journal. I found an empty notebook at the bottom of my bag so I figured I may as well write about my vacation. I'm sitting in the bus, on my way to Gravity Falls, Oregon, to visit my stepsiblings Dipper and Mabel Pines. Oh yeah - I'm Y/N L/N, their 16-year-old stepsister. The twins really enjoyed it last year, they came back home and wouldn't stop talking about it. They're already there, they left on Friday. I had some important stuff at home so I had to wait a few days.
And I just got a text from my best friend Kathy. One sec.

Kathy: Hey girl! Enjoy your summer in the middle of nowhere :-)
Y/N: Shut up Kathy! You know I'm only going because Mabel begged me.
Kathy: She gave you the puppy dog eyes again, didn't she?
Y/N: You know she did. I'm actually pumped. Dipper and Mabel always talk about their adventures and it sounds pretty fun.
Kathy: Yeah, yeah, go have fun with your stepsiblings. Meanwhile I'll be on a road trip with Dylan.
Y/N: I still don't see what you see. Dylan is crazy. And besides, while you're hanging out with Dylan, maybe I'll be having an epic summer romance.
Kathy: Good luck with that. Also, so what if Dylan's crazy? I'm crazy too. You're weird, going off to...what's it called again?
Y/N: Gravity Falls. Also, you are crazy. You two are the perfect pair.
Kathy: Yeah, Gravity Falls, when you could be on a road trip with me!
Y/N: Goodbye, Kathy. I'm turning off my phone now.
Kathy: Hey!! Don't you dare leave me hanging!! I won't see you all summer!

I left her hanging.

Where was I?
Oh yeah, they came back and kept talking about the crazy adventures they had - gnomes, zombies, mermen, size-changing crystals, even a crazy guy who summoned a demon just to get his hand on the Mystery Shack.
Oh yeah, the Mystery Shack. The tourist trap owned by my step-great-uncle Stan, also my home for the summer.
Back to the adventures. I don't really believe it, but on the other hand, even Dipper talks about them and he was never one for jokes. And Mabel kept talking about that guy Gideon, the one who apparently summoned a demon. Apparently, he and Mabel dated for a bit and then tried to destroy Dipper and her when she broke up with him.

Yeah, but no.

One of the things I'm looking forward to is the forest. We barely leave our hometown, and there aren't really many trees around there except in the park. And I know every inch of that place.

So I'm excited for walks in the forest. Maybe I will have an epic summer romance. That would be cool!

But at the same time, totally not happening.

I'm such a slow writer! We've arrived! I'll fill you in later!

1:23 PM

Okay. Two hours later, and I've forgotten what I wanted to write about. Typical.
So when I got out I was greeted by Mabel and this red-haired girl called Wendy. She's sixteen too and works for my step-great-uncle. (Mabel says they call him Grunkle Stan and I can call him that too. I wonder if he'd mind?) So I asked where Dipper was and Wendy said he was at the Mystery Shack reading his journal. I didn't know Dipper had a journal, but Mabel explained it with "the one he found in the tree". Actually, he did tell me about that.
We left the bus stop and walked to the shack since it wasn't far and on the way Mabel told me that she and Dipper had already done a bunch of stuff in the three days they'd been there.
When we got to the Shack, Mabel ran upstairs to get Dipper while I talked to Wendy a bit. She's really nice and has an awesome sense of humor. We were just joking around when Dipper and Mabel fly into the gift shop at top speed.
"Y/N!" Dipper said.
I said "Hey, dipstick." and I flicked the bottom of his cap because he hates it when I do that.
He shoved me. It didn't bother me.
"Come on, I wanna show you our room!" Mabel pulled me through the gift shop, up into the attic and into a small room with two beds and an air mattress. I could easily tell which bed was Mabel's - the duvet was pink and the roof which loomed over the bed was covered in posters and fairy lights while Dipper's bed had a simple green duvet and no posters, let alone fairy lights.

Mabel said "You don't have to take the air mattress, if you want you can have my bed."
I don't mind air mattresses, Kathy I constantly hosting slumber parties so I spend more time on them than in actual beds. So I put my stuff down and now I'm writing this.

Also, the window has an awesome view of the forest. I'm double pumped to check it out now. Speaking of which, Dipper seems pretty keen to keep me out of the forest. That just makes me wanna check it out even more!!! Seriously though, I wonder why Dipper doesn't want me to go in there?

Ack, I just turned my phone back on to a bombard of texts from Kathy.

Y/N: Calm down Kathy!!!!!! Don't blow my phone up!
Kathy: HOORAY I GOT AN ANSWER!
Y/N: You've been spamming me for two hours!
Kathy: I have an important question!!
Y/N: ....what?
Kathy: ARE THERE ANY CUTE BOYS?!
Y/N: Kath, I haven't been into town yet. I just got here!
Kathy: Okay :( But what about the girls? Any new friends?
Y/N: Actually, I made friends with this girl Wendy today. She's sixteen and has a wicked sense of humor!
Kathy: Does she know any cute boys?
Y/N: I don't know, I haven't asked.
Kathy: WELL GET A MOVE ON! You've been out of the dating scene for two years now!!!!!!
Y/N: I'm still waiting for the right guy, Kath.
Kathy: If you say so. Gotta go.
Y/N: Kk. Bye.

Welp. Now I'm bor

So sorry I just left like that! Mabel literally pulled me downstairs to meet Stan. Stan's gruff, sure, but you can tell he cares about Mabel and Dipstick. Dipstick acted kinda weird around me, he was really nervous for some reason. Who knows why? I don't, that's for sure.

I also met the handyman, this guy called Soos. He's definitely not the smartest, but he's cool. I like him. He looks up to Stan a lot.

I think I'm gonna sleep for a bit, I'm beat! I'll write more later.
