The Biennial idol cup is a competition, a collaborative work between three major idol companies, SING, Yoshi Entertainment and Soul Cooperation who are have classic bands under their name like: 3NiTe, Mazeru and Mg&G (all disbanded).

The entrance is free so long as participant has an account in the social media app: EV

#IdolCup2017 was the hashtag that Symphony had to post under every month showing their practices or performances. They have only 5 months (Apr - Sept) means 5 videos to gain enough viewers and likes for the semi-finals.

The required viewer count was 100k and 20k likes which was harder to do back then and Symphony barely made it with their September view count being exactly 100k views and 19k likes.

Because the idol cup is not as big as one might realize, getting 100k views is already a feat and they were the fiftieth group to join amongst the many countries EV are available in.

Apr 2017 - Chosen Ones [Symphony]
this video is about an original song written entirely by Sachi and mixed by their friend who was the one who owned the account where they posted the video at for the competition. This video was only became popular in 2018 after their debut but previously it got the lowest views and likes among the five videos.

Jun 2017 - Electric Angel [Symphony Cover]
this video shows them rehearsing their original dance and vocal cover, the video was posted by one of their friend's channel who was in charge of editing the video. The dance was choreographed by Kelly and their teacher and their vocal arrangement was assigned by Sachi. The notable comments are usually about Kelly's center dance and Sachi's vocals though Sada was complimented on how pretty she looked.

Jul 2017 - Senbonzakura [Symphony Cover]
this video has no dance but many noted that Kelly's vocal have improved a lot and many said that Sada sung the song better than Electric Angel even if the video is just a few weeks apart lol (and they probably pre-recorded it).

Aug 2017 - Gokuraku Jodo
this video is more dance than singing but Sachi had gotten more singing time and Kelly didn't even sing at all and was at the center for most of the dance. They didn't choreograph it but instead learn the actual dance, they uploaded a Korean version of it in 2019 and the lyrics were made by Madoka and Sachi.

Sep 2017 - Alien Alien
this video manage to get more views and likes but it was probably because of Gokuraku Judo viewers as the video got more likes than the video. The dance was further developed by their teacher and the line distribution was again handled by Sachi.

There was no video but they performed Chosen One despite not getting enough video views but they had added Kelly's Choreography and thought it may have been better than just the music. They were one of the few who won the semi-finals.

There were also no vlogs but when they were talking about their experience during this period, Kelly had suffered an injury that was supposed to heal before the finals started and Sada was stranded in Tokyo just before the day but nothing was really explained about why she was in Tokyo.

Madoka had originally been in another team but because of a fight she had left the group and because she had regrets quitting the competition just because she argued with someone, she decided to join and help Sachi.

They had first met during the semi finals but never really talked until they met again by chance while Sachi was returning from a visit from the hospital and it was during the time she was having regrets. They decided not to do choreography during the finals and had to depend on their voice to win.

But because Sachi and Madoka's voice clicked together and with Sachi's low note and Madoka's long note they manage to get first place.

They didn't think that their first place was that amazing in the future but back then it was a big deal because they were both emotionally exhausted.

They manage to find healing from each other.
