&The Girl's POV

Cassandra was having trouble containing her ardent disgust for James St. Claire. Absolutely no one had the right to disturb her studying, especially after the long hours she slaved over to afford living in her small posh dorm.

A city girl at heart, Cassandra was ignorant of the protests that her mother had voiced when she had boarded her plan to Los Angeles. Instead of pursuing her medical interests at the local university, Cassandra, or Cassie as she liked to be called, decided to enter the medical program at USC. However, she soon discovered the harsh differences between her beloved town of Desmont and the polluted Los Angeles.

As soon as she discovered the disgusting environment of the standard dorm room, Cassandra had opted for the more sanitary space of Radisson Hotel. Sure, it was definitely more expensive to live there, but it was worth it to see limited drunken rowdiness.

There were two major flaws in her decision. One of them was her roommate, a senior majoring in communications, who should have been part of a local sorority as far as Cassandra, could see. It was a miracle how Lauren could pull off a 3.7 GPA with all the partying that she did. Sometimes, Cassandra would have to deal with the silent acknowledgment of her roommate walking back into the room in the wee hours of the morning. The stench of alcohol would immediately fill Cassandra's senses, taking her back down memory lane, remembering the bitter images of her arguments with her father.

An alcoholic with no plans of sobering up, Patrick Irving was the bane of Cassandra's existence throughout high school. Her mother, becoming wiser as she grew older, had divorced him when Cassandra was in middle school. Unfortunately for the young girl with trust issues, Patrick was set on tormenting her every action. Not a day passed without Cassandra silently praying that "daddy would leave her alone". Nothing short of a miracle had Patrick sent to jail on the charges of theft and perjury. In fact, he was one of the main reasons why she had decided to travel to USC.

Another flaw in living at Radisson Hotel was a nosy neighbor. Since the top stories of the hotel acted as housing for students, every occupant of her floor were Trojans. One particular Trojan went by the name of James St. Claire. He was the complete opposite of Cassandra, who viewed him as yet another rich, spoiled, and greedy know-it-all, using daddy's money to buy his education. The loud music and loud moans coming from his hotel room certainly proved her thesis on the audacity of St. Claire.

On this particular night, Cassandra's patience and sanity finally snapped. Since the beginning of the month, he had partied every single night, with his music blaring louder and louder, almost as if daunting her to do something about it. Well, she would do something about it, even if it meant taking time out of studying for the midterm for one of the hardest courses on campus.

As she slammed the door to her room, Cassandra marched towards the door adjacent to her own, her feet dragging along the soft carpet. Somehow, during her disastrous burst of anger, she had managed to forget that she was not wearing any shoes.

It came as no surprise that the door to James St. Claire's luxurious VIP room was left open, due to something blocking its intentions to close. With daddy's money, St. Claire had apparently managed to convince the housing department at the university to let him rent such a room.

Because the door was left open, Cassandra was able to hear the soft giggles, followed by a loud purr sound echoing through the hallway, despite the loud music currently blasting through his door.

Turning as red as a tomato, Cassandra knocked on the door as loudly as she could; trying to obliterate all traces of what she heard from her all too innocent mind.

She heard loud cursing, followed by immediate movement as someone tried to walk towards the door.

"Who the hell is it at my door?" a guy's voice asked.
