Abby's P.O.V

It's dark, but my eyes see things that aren't really here. Different shapes, all a lighter or darker shade of the same black.

I've decided that it's okay if I've gone insane, because it feels as though I've been here for days. Maybe I have been, and if I've been here for days already, then I think I can be here for a lot of days.

Here is where I don't have to worry anymore.

Luke's P.O.V

It's been two days.

It's been two days since she was entered into this place, and she still isn't awake.

Why.

They won't let me see her. They say it's not safe for her. They say she's in critical conditions so only family is allowed in.

I haven't left her though. I haven't left the hospital at all.

I feel as though I've stopped feeling. I've stopped feeling the ache of my heart, I've stopped feeling the clawing of my empty stomach, I've stopped feeling the dryness of my dehydrated mouth.

I've stopped feeling.

I pace the waiting room, as I have been all day. They haven't told me anything about her condition, besides it being critical. They haven't told me why or how. She could be awake and I wouldn't know.

I decide to try again, so I walk towards her room, but they've stationed a nurse outside of it.

"Sir, you can't go in. Please, just sit in the waiting room." The nurse asks me.

I look her in the eyes, "Please, you have to let me in." I beg her.

"I can't," She tells me, "I'm sorry."

I rough sigh escapes my mouth, and I head back to the waiting room, defeated again.

A person catches my eye when I enter, and I watch them for a moment before asking, "What are you doing here?"

"You need to come home." Cade tells me.

"No, I don't. I'm fine."

"You are not. You haven't had anything to eat or drink. You haven't bathed or slept. Just come home for tonight and you can come back tomorrow." He tries to reason with me.

"No, I can't leave her. What if she wakes up without me."

"Then you'll see her in the morning." He says.

"How'd you know where I was?" I ask.

"Jett." He replies with the single word, and it makes me angry. I'm silent next, and he senses my emotions.

"Don't be angry." He says.

"Why shouldn't I be?" I spit.

"He's just trying to help you."

"He doesn't want me to see his sister. My girlfriend." I spit.

"You can come back in the morning, everything will be okay." He reasons.

"No I-" I start, but I stop quickly. Behind me I can hear a nurse and a doctor talking.

"Dr. Schmidt the patient in room 436 is awake."

"Thank you Patsy, I'll be in to check on her momentarily." The doctor answers her.

I don't even look back at Cade before I begin to sprint in her direction, but before I can take two steps Cade's already got me by my midsection, pulling me back.
