"mr. jung? you can come to see him now." wooseok was in seoul hospital, after getting the call that yuto's apartment had burned down and yuto had been caught in the fire. he had been going to bed at home when he got a random call from the hospital. apparently, he was yuto's emergency contact and he had never changed it. he had rushed there as soon as he got the message, but the doctors wouldn't let him in no matter how much he pleaded. after waiting a couple of hours, sitting on a cold, plastic bench, watching people cry and pass by him, he had finally gotten the 'ok' to go see yuto.

it was quiet in his room, curtains closed with the only noise his soft breathing and the beeping of the heart monitor. "the burns are severe," the doctor said, "but he'll be fine. we bandaged him up so the air won't infect it." wooseok nodded. yuto was lying in the bed, clearly in a deep sleep, peaceful, oblivious to wooseok and dr. kim standing by him. "i'll...leave you alone for now." he left the room, wooseok alone with yuto at last. he sat down next to him, breathing slowly. he was at the point where he didn't know if yuto would even accept him once he awoke. what if he wouldn't let wooseok stay, or even let him take him back home. "yuto," he whispered, leaning into his chest. "i miss you."

"i know. i do too." he responded. wooseok shot up in shock, he thought yuto was asleep this whole time. yuto was still facing the ceiling, small smile on the part of his face you could still see through the bandages. his right eye was completely covered, and yet a small, glistening tear slipped through the other. "y-yuto. i'm sorry. i should've told you, i just-" wooseok grabbed his hand as yuto cut him off, "it's okay. i forgive you. i know why you did it. it makes sense." yuto turned to him and as their eyes met, wooseok knew that he finally had him back. "i love you. take me home?" wooseok already knew he had a tear of his own slipping down his cheek. he pulled him in for a hug, and in that moment, that was all he needed.

after that, wooseok got yuto discharged and finally took him home. he had always had another home, he just never used it because of his time in the dorms. it was a house up in the country, made of wood but with a glass furnishing and sleek, modern look. there was plenty of room for both of them there, and all the time in the world for them do whatever they wanted. yuto giggled quietly as he danced around the house, hand in hand with wooseok. his pearly, oversized, collared shirt made him look so ethereal, it was like yuto was right back to the person he always was. they spent the day together, admiring the view of the sky and the trees, and as wooseok kissed yuto that night, they both knew that they had a spark that would keep them together till the end.

3 am.

yuto lied awake next to wooseok, he couldn't sleep. he had fallen asleep hours ago, cuddling with him but he had found himself awake again and he just couldn't rest. his thoughts haunted him, beating with an emotional club and yet he didn't react. he couldn't bring the emotional baggage he had always had to wooseok. sighing, he got up and headed to kitchen. he was disheveled, his hair shaken up and wooseok's hoodie all wrinkled. he poured himself a glass of water, turning on the dimmest light and lifting himself onto the counter.

"why would wooseok come back for me?" he thought. "i left him but i was the one to get angry." he looked away, out to the windows. he couldn't see the sky anymore. the curtains were drawn. he didn't deserve wooseok. he felt like he was using him. becoming drunk and pulling into his addictions wasn't helping him and he couldn't live with the fact that he let himself lose wooseok. it had been so long since he had cried with pure sadness and yet that was all he had now. he sniffled, guiltily. he didn't deserve wooseok. a man who came back when he refused to reason or even understand and yet, here he was, apology free. what he had done in the hospital was selfish-he acted like he forgave wooseok but it was yuto who messed it up all along.

"yuto?" wooseok called from the doorway. yuto looked back, quickly wiping his tears "y-yeah?" wooseok frowned, coming to him. "what's wrong?" yuto leaned into his shoulder, comforting him. "i feel bad. i left you without any reasoning and i wouldn't even listen to you. it was wrong." wooseok smiled softly, brushing his hair out of his eyes. "don't apologize. nothing is wrong. i understand. sometimes we don't want a reason to do something." yuto shook his head, mumbling, "but i-" wooseok cut him off, planting a kiss on his lips. "shh. come back to bed." yuto smiled in opposite remorse, feeling a bit of closure taking him over. he took his hand, and all was right in the world.
