Prologue
"Gosh, It's too irritating." I exclaimed.
Azhter stared at me and laughed. I threw my heels on the ground and closed the door of my office. Azhter was sitting on my seat and proudly leaning on my chair. That wench!
"Move over, that's mine." I said irritatedly. I didn't have time to wait for him so I just laid on the sofa and massaged my forehead. Why didn't they tell me that the elevator stopped working? I have to take the stairs from the first floor to tenth floor.
"Where have you been?" Azhter asked with a smile on his face. He's the worst and most annoying cousin ever.
"At the coffee shop! I wanted to drink some frappe and my secretary was too lazy to get it for me." I replied. Azhter crossed his eyebrows and stared at me.
"Silly, She's covering your absence for the past few days. Of course, she's busy."
"So, you're now on her side? I have to buy my own frappe, you moron. Then the elevator stopped so I had to climb multiple floors on my own." I massaged my temple and stomped my feet. He's laughing at me. I threw the sofa's pillow at him but he caught it like it was too easy.
"You're so childish, Lizette." he chuckled.
"Whatever, Do you want me to ask my father to send you to a different department?" I argued. Shocks, my feet ain't getting any better because of him.
"So, You fired her?"
"Then, what should I do? Promote her for not buying my frappe? It's not like she's one in a million." I raised an eyebrow and stood up. I pushed him away to take over my seat. He's always getting on my nerves. I don't know why Tito Samuel asked me to work with this arrogant person. If only he's not my cousin, I'll fire him for sure. An employee knocked into my office so I ordered Azhter to open the door. He glared at me but had no choice but to obey my orders.
"Good Morning, Ma'am. The candidates for your new secretary are waiting outside," she informed. Azhter looked at me in disgrace.
"It's your fifteenth secretary for this week," he asserted.
"Then, tell my Dad to let Jacob manage Flores Corporation and stop studying Medicine so I can pursue the job I've always wanted." I rolled my eyes at him and went outside. I sat on the chair behind the candidates and took a look at their resumes. Azhter was standing behind me and poking my shoulder multiple times.
"Stop it," I hissed.
"Tell your Dad to get me my own secretary," he stated and saw him looking at those sexy girls applying for me. I rolled my eyes and pushed him back. He's too annoying.
"Name?" I asked.
Suddenly, I froze in my seat when I saw that name on the paper I was holding. I read it over and over again to make sure. I take a look at the candidates and I can't see him around. I can't see his face either. Someone knocked at the door and came in from outside. I grinned sarcastically. He's late and he'll always be. Our eyes met and mine were glued to him. He immediately looked away and acted like he didn't know me at all.
I leaned back on my seat and dropped the papers on the floor. He sat at the last place of the chair and looked at his wristwatch.
"Wasn't he-"
I stopped Azhter and pinched his waist. I focus on their resume and interview them one by one.
"What the hell was he doing here?" Azhter murmured. The upper candidates were finished and it's now his turn. I took a deep breath and stared at him.
"Name?" I asked. I closed my fist and smirked. He looked at me like it was the first time we've met. Like he didn't know everything about me.
"Sean," he replied and gave me the coldest glare I've ever seen.
"Sean Philip Delos Reyes," he added.
"He's one in a million, wasn't he?" Azhter whispered. A single tear fell down from my eye. I looked at Sean's resume and gave it back to him.
"He's not." I replied to Azhter and walked straight into my office. How dare he?
