''Hey Sweden... You saw Estonia last, right?''

''Iceland saw her in like the 90s, didn't he?'' Sweden answered Finland's question with one of his own, much more uncertain. It was a surprise that he understood what he meant at all though, since the question had been so vague.

Iceland nodded, ''Yeah when I recognized her independence. First out of everyone too,'' he seemed to remember the instance quite well, but wasn't very emotional about it, ''She was quiet but definitely very thankful.''

Finland just hummed in response, it wasn't usual for her to be quiet, but she'd been quite quiet today as well so maybe she had just changed. He himself remembered a long time ago, when she was still very young, with a grey face and barely a language of her own. Then again during her first independence, when she first sported that pretty tri-colour flag, and the years following that when she became increasingly more authoritarian. That was the point when they started falling out of touch... as soon as their governments started having different ideals. Maybe I should've helped her instead of shutting her out. Everyone was too caught up with themselves to help a small country like her, and he knew he was guilty of the same thing. It was regretful but he didn't know better back then. There wasn't any use in beating himself up over it though... it happened decades ago, and she didn't seem like she still held it against him when they talked...

''But I was the last one to see her with her normal flag before the war though if that's what you meant... why are you asking?'' Sweden raised an eyebrow, looking at Fin as he unlocked their front door. Ah... Sweden saw her before she joined the Soviet Union... maybe she explained why.

''En kommentoi... (No comment...)'' Finn pulled the door open.

''You talked to her, didn't you?'' Denmark, who had stayed silent so far, spoke up.

All of them entered the house one by one, taking their coats and hats off. He was a little taken aback that they'd figured it out so easily, but what did he really expect. They know their brother too well.

''Oh my god, you did!'' Sweden exclaimed annoyingly, it seems that staying silent was the wrong option.

Finn rolled his eyes, ''It's not that big of a deal.''

''What did you talk about?''

''Wait, doesn't she hate you?''

''What?'' He was confused by Sweden's last statement, ''Hate me? Why?''

''Well... I mean I would think so, remembering the state she was in last time I saw her...''

Norway casually flopped down onto the couch yelling, ''Storytime!''

''Well...''

The banging at the door was getting increasingly louder but Finland still wouldn't answer the door. I'm not that much of an asshole, Sweden thought, moving to finally unlock the door.

''Estland... Finland is... not home.'' he knew that there was a very slim chance that she understood him, but he tried anyway. As he thought, she just kept staring up at him with those wide eyes, they had a dead look in them like everyone's do nowadays with war at their doorstep. They annoyed him.

''Ei... Suomi..(No... Finland..)'' he spoke in the extremely limited Finnish he knew, trying to get the information through her thick skull. She immediately started babbling in something that he guessed to be a mix of Estonian and Russian until tears started flowing out of her glossy eyes. There was something stopping him from just shutting the door in her face, some sort of crippling in his chest. Goddamn sympathy. He stepped out of the way, letting her walk in. Hesitantly, she did, obviously not passing up the chance since she was very lightly dressed and it was one of the coldest winters in recent times. Even Sweden could feel the cold getting to him just from the short amount of time he'd stood at the door. Why was she even here...
