Foxtrot leaves his jet and heads below deck. Making his way into the mess hall. For the successful mission the pilots are given Stake, Toast, and ice cream. But just as Foxtrot is done eating he is ordered to the Air boss office.
"Don't eat my ice cream." Joked Foxtrot to Avalanche.
"By the time you get back it will be melted." replied Avalanche.
"Turner, keep an eye on him." joked Foxtrot.
"Yes sir." responded Turner.
Foxtrot knocks on the door of the air bosses office.
"Come in." said the air boss
"You wanted to see me sir?" Asked Foxtrot entering.
"Uh yes, we have a problem." said the air boss.
"What is it?" questioned Foxtrot
"A 2 allied coalition pilot where shot down." The air boss responded.
"Where was his last location?" asked Foxtrot. "I need to know to keep my pilots and the rescue team safe."
"When he ejected his location beacon showed he was located Lat; 21.861499, Long: 62.666016 but that was the last know position." said the Air boss. "But after looking at and studying maps with Oceanographer's, we think he's in a 20 mile radius of his last known location." said the air boss.
"I hope your right." responded Foxtrot.
"You guys will be launching in 20 minutes. Get your guys scrambled." said the Air boss. "You will be working at night but if we wait he might be lost at sea or captured."
"Yes Sir!" responded Foxtrot.
Foxtrot rushes back to the mess hall and lets his squadron know about the mission the brief and then scramble to there jets.
They launch to and then turn East towards the rescue site.
The Coast guard MH-60 races to the site.
After 10 minutes of flying the Knight Raiders arrive on station. Descending to 5,000 feet and circling the 1300 square mile search zone.
Then off in the distance Foxtrot spots a red flash off in the distance. The sign of the a single flare.
"Rescue 1 I see a signal flare, here is the location." Foxtrot said to the Rescue helicopter.
"Roger, thanks Foxtrot." said Rescue 1.
Then a formation of 14 mig-29's appear on radar.
"Rescue 1 stop the rescue!" ordered Foxtrot urgently.
Suddenly with no warning the Mig-29's fire on the rescue helicopter.
The rescue helicopter try's to evade the missiles. Amazingly the rescue helicopter is able to dodge all the missiles.
Now Foxtrot and his squadron go on the attack.
The pilots form up line abreast and fire 10 AIM-120D's.
The roar to the mig-29's knocking 10 out of they sky.
But the enemy migs don't brake off. Instead they the go full on into the fight.
The Americans speed towards the merge at over 500mph. Foxtrot and Avalanche brake right while Phoenix and Turner go vertical. Trying to get the Mig-29 Fulcrums boxed in.
Foxtrot and Avalanche pull hard on the stick trying to pull lead on the Mig-29's. Foxtrot gets a lock with his AIM-9X sidewinder missile and fires. The Fulcrum is obliterated.
The Migs retreat to friendly airspace.
The rescue mission resumes and the pilots are rescued.
"This is rescue 1, we have the pilots aboard."
"Roger Rescue 1." said Foxtrot. "Knight Raiders let's head back to the carrier."
The pilots land back on the carrier and the keeping with naval tradition the coast guard ship is awarded with extra ice cream.
Thinking nothing about this mission foxtrot heads to bed but soon he will find out he will get some new pilots joining his squadron.
