I took out my headphones and clicked shuffle on my playlist. After a few seconds, the song started to play.
Walking from my apartment complex, I headed towards the college campus. As I walked, I started to admire the scenery around me. The colorful leaves on the trees from the autumn season matched with the light blue sky, as the early sun was rising. The sunlight shone on the reddish-brown buildings that were in front of me.
Students were also walking towards the main buildings, gathering in groups and laughing and talking. Me, of course, didn't have any friends to communicate with, but I don't mind it.
"Music is all I need," I thought to myself as I continued my path, blocking out the noise of the outside world.
After a while, I finally made it to the building. I looked around and it is crowded, as usual.
I gripped the strap of my backpack and took a deep breath. Here we go.
My chemistry class didn't start until another fifteen minutes, but I always like to arrive early to everything, because that is just who I am.
Me being 5'5, it was, how do I say it...a little hard to get through big, tall crowds, especially the ones with the athletes. As I was trying to survive, a group of football players were in front of me, not moving. Great.
Please don't embarrass yourself, Liv.
After contemplating my life decisions, I finally got the courage to tap on one of the football players shoulder. He didn't budge.
I looked around and there was no way out. Well, isn't this just my luck! The odds are never in my favor.
Let's go for Round Two. I took out my headphones and took another deep breath.
"Hey." I merely shouted. But my soft voice got drowned out by the loud hallway and the rowdiness of the players.
I tried shouting louder but they didn't hear me. I crossed my arms in annoyance. But, I didn't notice that there was someone behind me when they yelled, making me jump.
"Ayo, dickwads!" A girls voice yelled. They all turned to her, and so did I. The first thing I noticed was her light blue eyes, which shone in anger as she looked up at them. Her light brown hair, which were cut in layers, cascaded down her body. She was beautiful.
"Do you not see this girl trying to get through? Oh of course you didn't, your testosterone filled minds blinded your manners." She rolled her eyes and looked at me. "What's your name, sweetie?"
"Olivia," I muttered, looking down at my white sneakers as the football players' eyes were on me.
"Olivia. What a pretty name." I looked up as she smiled at me. Then, she looked at the guys again and her smile got exchanged with a frown, showcasing her pink lips. "Now boys, can you say sorry to dear Olivia for being such assholes?"
My eyes widened at what she said. If things couldn't get more embarrassing enough.
"You don't have to-" I started to defend, but they already started.
"Sorry, Olivia." They all said in unison. I looked up at them and met all of their gazes. My face started to get red.
"It's okay, really." I reassured them.
"Thank you for that. Now, let us through." The brunette girl said, shooing them with her hands.
Parting like the Red Sea, all eight of the football players moved aside to let me and the girl pass by. Not to mention that everyone else in the hallway all looked in awe. My face got even more red.
