Chenle's POV
"I was just checking a room in the floor we were in and the next thing I know, I only have a perspective of what my body was doing. Turns out Azazel already possessed me." Jisung told me as we hid inside a room.
I gasped. "You became a seeker? But how?" He shrugged. "Maybe Lucifer was inside the same room where I was looking and you know, he's a smoke. I didn't hear him say 'you're 'it''. Azazel's next victim was Jeno hyung."
I waved my hands. "I'll clear a point; let's not use our hyungs' names but instead their demons'. They're not the one that will seek so mentioning their name sounds like a crime that they didn't even commit." I said.
Jisung nodded and continued, "Then Belphegor took over his body. I ran when I realized what Azazel did. I bumped into you after a couple of minutes of wandering." He finished.
The both of us decided to just hide in one place and make the seeker find for us. Even though I want to find our older brothers so bad, I'm scared to do so. My first experience didn't really go well.
If the seeker or Jaemin hyung catches us, then we're going to run for it and find another place to hide. I just hope we could find our hyungs or they could find us.
"Chenle, we're not doing anything!" Jisung groaned and stood up from where he was sitting. "Remember what Jaemin hyung said? This game will only end once we defeat them and our demons. We're here depending on our hyungs to finish this game.
"This won't end in three thirty-three in the morning or when we are tired. We have to find out how to defeat them, Chenle. We shouldn't depend on them, especially Hyuck hyung, to solve this all by themselves."
He's right. I'm such a coward. I'm the older one yet he's much more stronger and tougher.
He offered his hand with a small smile. "Come on, Chenle. We're going to end this game like we did before but this time, we have to contribute a piece to the puzzle. Okay?" I smiled back and took his hand.
"Okay."
Jisung pulled me up from the floor and started searching. "Hey, how about this," He said as we climbed down a flight of stairs. "You can search for our hyungs and warn us when the seeker or Jaemin hyung is coming and I will try to understand what's going on right now."
I nodded. "Good idea. But don't go farther from me. We can mix our theories together, if we can make up with one or more." I said. Jisung nodded and we set off to search for our hyungs.
Since I am the one to find them, my guard is up when we passed by floors and rooms that we go up or we go down to. Jisung was busy in his thoughts while half-mindedly following me.
"Chenle," Jisung called. I looked behind and raised a brow at him. He was going to talk when we heard a scream on the floor above us.
The both of us looked at each other and decided to go there. I know we're pushing ourselves to where the seeker or Jaemin hyung is, but maybe the scream has also attracted our hyungs' attentions.
As we climbed the stairs, Jisung muttered, "It sounded a lot like Renjun hyung," He glanced at me. "Did you scream earlier?" He asked and I slightly nodded.
"I mean I saw Jaemin hyung and I ran out of there before he can even try to blow my candle." I pouted and we finally arrived.
My eyes shimmered when I saw three candlelights. Jisung and I dashed to whoever was there. As we slowly came to where those lights were, we found Donghyuck, Mark and Jeno hyung.
"Hyung!" I exclaimed and they immediately shushed me. "Keep it down. Samael just left to search for you," Mark hyung whispered with wide eyes, realizing what he said.
"Wait, if you two are here—"
Hyuck hyung pushed Mark's hands to Jisung and I's arms. "I can sense him. Let's go." And with that, we ran towards the other direction. Donghyuck hyung was dragging Jeno who I think just made Renjun 'it'.
"How come we didn't encounter Samael?" I asked. "I don't know. Wherever you hid was a good spot. But now that we're all united, both Jaemin and Samael are going for us."
Jisung suddenly started shaking his head. "Let's not separate anymore, please. This whole game and place scares me. I don't want to lose you guys anymore." He pleaded and almost broke down in tears.
I saw Hyuck hyung smile. "Don't worry, Jisung. We'll find a perfect place to hide and all of us will run together if those two devils will chase our asses." A feather fell from his wings. "Hyung.."
He just chuckled. "I know, Lele. Don't mind it." I'm worrried for him but I kept my mouth shut.
Donghyuck hyung suddenly stopped and finally, Jeno hyung came into his senses. "Jisung..?" It's the first name he said. He looked beside Mark. "Oh, there you are. How dare you." The youngest pouted. "It's Azazel's fault!"
"Ssh!" Our tanned hyung warned. We went quiet. I noticed him look down on his candle so I did, too.
The light was flickering.
"Prepare your lighters. Follow me." He said and we took small, silent steps to the stairs.
I felt that Mark hyung's grip on me loosened. I looked at him and I screamed again when I saw Samael touch his back, saying,
"You're 'it'."
Mark hyung's eyes turned red while Renjun's turned back to normal. "Grab Renjun, Lele!" Jeno shouted. I immediately did and Jisung and I ran behind Hyuck and Jeno hyung.
Renjun blinked and looked at me, raising a brow. "Chenle?" I shushed him. "No time to explain. Mark hyung is the seeker." I said. "Satan, Chenle. Satan is going to search for us!" Jisung corrected while taking hyung's other arm.
I looked behind and saw no one. I think we're far from him now. We climbed up a flight of stairs and Jeno hyung guided us inside a room. He closed the old doors to keep Jaemin and Satan away from us.
We slumped down on the dirty floor. "These wings are so heavy. What are these purpose anyway?" Jisung asked and he looked at Donghyuck hyung. The latter was also looking at him, taking note of the question the youngest spat out.
"Didn't Jaemin say these are to detect our bad deeds?" Renjun hyung started, "If we cuss or do something bad, the feathers will fall and when they are all gone, our demons will take over us."
"But what is the reason why our demons will take over us?" I asked. Hyuck hyung snapped his fingers. "That's it. We don't know why."
Silence came over us for a few minutes before Jeno hyung said, "What if by the time we answer the question Chenle asked, it would answer another set of questions?"
"But what if there will be more unanswerable questions?" Jisung asked. Renjun hyung waved his hands. "Wait, wait. First of all.. why is this happening? Try answering that."
Our eyebrows furrowed. "Because of her." We replied in unison. "Why?" He added. Hyuck hyung shrugged. "Because she was the one who awoke our monsters." He said matter-of-factly.
Jeno hyung gave the tanned boy a serious look. "Then what made these monsters stick to us?"
All of us fell silent again.
It wasn't unanswerable.
In fact, we know the answer.
We just don't want to mention it.
History did repeat itself.
