(Eddie's POV)
I closed my diary and stuffed it in my backpack when I was done writing....
The bus stopped at my house a minute later. I sat up and walked into my house to see my mom waiting for me in the kitchen.
"Hi Eddie Bear, did you have a good first day of school?"
"Hey mom.......it was fine.", I answered.
"Well, come tell me about it..."
"Maybe later. I'm going to go hang out with my friend in half an hour.", I said.
"I didn't agree to that, Eddie Bear."
"I'm in eighth grade.....Why can't I make my own decision if I want to hang out with our neighbors?", I said.
"Fine, but be back before dinner...."
"Okay.", I said while walking up the stairs to my bedroom.
I sat on my bed and did my homework which took 20 minutes. My phone beeped, I glanced at it.
Richie texted me ,'Where do you want to hang out?'
I called him and said that he could just meet me in front of my house in 5 minutes.
I hid my diary under a pillow on my bed and put my backpack on a chair. Then, I ran downstairs and opened the front door. Richie was standing at the mailbox. I stepped outside, shut the door and walked over to the mailbox.
"Hey Rich, why didn't you just knock on front door?", I asked.
"I'm pretty sure your mom hates me.", Richie answered.
"Oh, she didn't want me to go hang out, but she didn't know I was going with you. I'll ask her about it later....", I said.
"So, where do you want to go?"
"I don't know, maybe out to eat?", I said. "Oh wait, No I can't...my mom told me to be home by dinner time which is 6:00 at my house.", I said again.
"Oh, that's fine. Where else should we go then.",Richie said.
"Arcade?", Richie said again.
"That's such a Richie thing to say.", I said laughing.
So, we walked to the arcade. It was a 10 minute walk. When we got their we sat at a table and Richie pulled out a bunch of quarters from his pocket.
"How did you know we were going to the arcade?!", I asked.
"I didn't. I bring quarters everywhere. Everywhere, except school.", Richie answered.
"Oh, Okay?", I said.
We played arcade games until 5:45 and then we started walking home.
We were at my house by 5:55.
'Perfect timing', I thought.
"I'll see you on the bus tomorrow, Bye.", I said.
"Bye.", Richie said back. He started to walk to his house.
I took out my house key and started walking up to my front door. I unlocked the door and opened it. Then, I stepped inside and locked it again.
"Hey mom, I'm back.", I said.
I walked into the kitchen to see what was for dinner. My mom was already in the kitchen.
"You didn't tell me you were hanging out with him, Eddie Bear...."
"Do you mean Richie?", I asked.
"Yes........I don't like him hanging out with you. He's too inappropriate."
"He's my best friend......", I said.
"We'll talk about this later....."
"Um, Okay?", I answered. "What are we having for dinner, Mom?", I said again.
"Spaghetti.....", she answered.
I nearly started laughing. It reminded me of one of Richie's stupid nick names he gave me...
When dinner was done I ran up stairs. I was bored so I got out my diary and started to write.................

Dear Diary,
I hung out with Richie after school. We went to the arcade. I also had spaghetti for dinner which reminded me of Richie. Everything reminds me of Richie now. I don't think he likes me. I think the reason he always wants to hang out is because we're best friends. Nothing more. I don't know anymore. At least Trenton left me alone for the rest of the school day. I don't want to go to Math tomorrow but I have to......Fuck. No. Anyways, I should probably go. Bye.

I closed my diary and shoved it under my pillow. Then my watch beeped so I went downstairs I got a cup of water, took a sip, and swallowed 2 pills. I don't even really know what these pills are for but I take them 3 times a day. It was already 8:00 by the time I got upstairs so I decided to go to bed because I have nothing better to do.
I woke up at 4 AM again. Fuck.
