"I take it he's the worst?" Ei asked once dinner was over and we were back in my room. He was rubbing my back.

"Him and Dad," I said, sniffing.

"You can cry, y'know," Kat said, so I let myself do so. It felt good.

We all froze when we heard a soft knock on my door.

"Who is is?" Ei called.

I think my heart shattered at the tiny response. "It's just me," said Shiro's small voice. I quickly got up to open the door for her.

"Hey," I said, wiping my tears away and crouching so that we were eye level. She seemed perplexed that I could do that, and I understood. I doubted anyone in her family would do anything but look down on her from above. "Whatcha doin' here?"

"I didn't mean to bother you," she mumbled.

"You're not, promise," I swore, trying to smile. She saw through the forced smile.

"I... wanted to see if you were okay. But you're sad," Shiro said, pointing at me. The fake grin faded, and I almost felt guilty for my poor attempt at pretending.

"Yeah," I admitted. "I'm sad."

"Inu used to give me hugs when I was sad," she said. "They made me feel better." I sat down criss-cross in front of her, and she crawled into my lap to give me a hug of her own. It was nice. "Inu got mean," she pouted, not letting go of me. "He yells at me a lot now, too. I don't like him anymore."

"Me neither. He's a jerk," Kat voiced his already obvious opinion. "Friggin'... let's say there's some things I wanna say to his face. And then proceed to do to his face."

Shiro laughed, jumping off me, and ran over to my boyfriends, who were still sitting on my bed. "You're funny," she giggled. "What's your quirk?"

He seemed taken aback at her lack of fear, but not angry in the slightest. "I'll show you, but you gotta back up. It can be dangerous if you're too close." She nodded and took a couple of giant steps away, then turned back to look at him. "Ready?" She nodded again fervently. Her eyes lit up in wonder at the little sparkler-type explosions sizzling in his palms.

"Pretty!" she giggled again. "Can you make them bigger?"

He stopped. "Technically. But that would probably end badly."

"Aww, okayyyy." She looked up at Ei.

"What about you? What's yours?"

"I get hard," he explained.

"Ei! Phrase that better right this second," Kat poked him.

"Ah, right, sorry, sorry," he laughed sheepishly. "I can make my skin get hard, kinda like a rock. It's really hard to break." He hardened his hand and showed her.

"Cool! Can I... can I touch it?"

"Sure," he grinned, and she delighted in feeling his skin, which was, in fact, hard. "How 'bout your quirk? Has it manifested yet?"

She nodded. "I can absorb electricity! I can't do anything with the electricity once it's in me, it just fizzes out."

I tilted my head. "How did you find out about it?" I asked.

"That's a good point. I found out about my quirk when I rubbed my eye and my fingers were super hard. I've still got the scar," Ei said, pointing at his eye.

"Um... Inu would get mad if I told you about it."

"The heck... did he do something?" Kat crossed his arms.

Slowly, she nodded. "He is quirk is lots like Denki's. He... he said it was just a prank, but he stopped being sorry when I said it didn't hurt," she mumbled sadly.

Kat frowned. "I might not be the fondest of little kids—and I might be, y'know, me—but even I won't do that. It's cruel when it's senseless."

"Well, that's just Inu," I sighed, flopping backwards on my floor. That was a mistake, as the door opened and I was still kinda right there. It hit me in the head, and I was (unfortunately) kind of used to that.

"Ow," I said, and found myself staring directly up at Meinu. "Oh, sorry."

"The hell are you apologizing for?" He sighed. "Get up." I stood up, still mumbling some sort of instinctual apology. "I said stop saying sorry for everything, dammit. I, uh... my dad and I are leaving. Look, I wanted to acknowledge that I was being a shitty human being. Sorry. I probably won't come back, your whole family's crazy. And... yeah. Sorry. I'm not gonna tell anyone about you guys being... y'know. More than platonic." He dipped out, and part of me refused to believe that any part of that was real.

"The heck... why are you crying, Dunce Face?" Kat asked, and I blinked, realizing that I was, in fact, tearing up yet again.

I wiped at my eyes for maybe the thousandth time that day and genuinely smiled for the first time that day. "It's nothing. Just that no one's ever apologized to me before."

That seemed to shock them. "Seriously? Like..." Ei didn't seem to believe it.

"Not that I can remember. I mean, people have said 'sorry' before when they pitied me or whatever. But no one's ever apologized," I sighed, sniffing one more time before collecting myself.

"Denks, do you want a hug?" Ei offered, and I nodded.

"It would be very much appreciated," I admitted, actually getting up off the floor and shuffling over to them.

We dog-piled on my bed, and even I had to laugh upon having gotten stuck between two hot guys and my baby cousin.

That ended when the door swung open and Inu walked in.

"Shiro, we're leaving. And what the hell are you doing with these bunch of f**s?" he spat, earning two glares. I would've joined my boyfs in staring the bitch down, but Inu gave me anxiety.

"What's a—" Shiro tilted her head.

"They're disgusting. That's all you have to know about it. Now come over here," he said again, and she hopped off the bed, hurrying over to him.

"Like you're one to talk about it being gross," I mumbled so quietly that I could barely hear myself. So how the heck did he?

"You wanna say that again, you deplorable twink?" he shot back, and I froze.

"Nothing," I mumbled. "Sorry."

"You better be sorry, fucking retard. Next time I hear a word outta you, I swear I won't hold back. I don't give a shit who's here," he threatened. "Good in combat, my ass. You can't do a thing for yourself. I don't know how the fuck you've got two more little whores wrapped around your finger, but you sure as hell don't deserve it." That made me mad. It wasn't easy to actually make me mad, but he managed.

"They're not—" I started to defend them, to the best of my abilities, but my confidence faltered when he glanced down at Shiro.

"Go back to Mom and Dad, Shiro. They'll be leaving soon."

"Y-you should come, too, then," she said. She could clearly tell that something was wrong, and I even got the inkling that she was trying to help me.

"I'll be there soon, boo. Now get the hell out." She squeaked and ran out of the room. She didn't even say goodbye... Inu cracked his knuckles, and I turned my attention back to the loose thread in my comforter. "Now then, where were we?"
