I felt my eyelids slowly open and blink to try and adjust to the bright room around me. Once my vision cleared, I saw that I was staring straight at a light blue ceiling.
I couldn't move my body. My body felt numb and heavy. I probably looked so retarded right now. My mouth was slightly open and K was staring at the ceiling with eyes like a newborn baby. The only thing I could do was tilt my head to the side. I noticed that I was hooked to a bunch of machines and a heart monitor that constantly beeped every second.
I freaked out and jolted up straight in my bed, causing pain to shoot up from my waist up. I groaned. My head felt like it was full of bricks.
My eyes lingered down to my body. I was wearing a freaking white hospital gown and those cheap hospital socks. My arm was injected with 2 needles on my right arm and 3 on my left. Bruises covered my arms and legs, other than that there were no serious injuries.
Why am I here? What happened?
This was probably a dream. In a moment now, I'll wake up in my bed at my parents house like every other morning. ...Right?
Just then, the door swung open and a nurse walked in along with my parents and sister.
"Mom! Dad! Fanny!" I said as my mom quickly rushed to my side and gave me a hug. "Felix!" she breathed out. I can tell she had been crying; her eyes were red and weary. My dad and sister stood beside my bed. My dad looked at me and I noticed him relax. He smiled down at me and grunted, "Felix." I smiled up at my dad and gave him a hug once my mother released me.
My sister looked the same as my mom. Her hair was tied into a lazy bun and she was wearing a T-Shirt, sneakers, and a pair of jeans, which was unlike her. It then occurred to me that she probably rushed down to the hospital to see me.
I could feel small tears in my eyes as I hugged my sister. "Felix, I'm so glad you're awake!" I let go of her and looked at all of them with a confused expression. "How long was I asleep?" I nervously asked.
"You were asleep for 3 days, Felix." The nurse answered, handing me a tray of food that I didn't notice when she walked in.
Three days? Holy shit, what happened?!
As if the nurse read my mind, she continued. "You were in a car accident, Felix. You hit your head pretty hard on the windshield. No one was in the car with you. Do you remember this happening?"
I shook my head no. The nurse handed me my food; a chicken salad with a cold small milk carton. The nurse crossed her arms and nodded thoughtfully as if my answer confirmed something she already knew.
"Felix," the nurse said, gently putting her hand on my own. I shifted a little under her concerned gaze. "You have a concussion and small memory loss. What is the last thing you remember?"
I thought for awhile. What was the last thing I remembered? My mind was fuzzy at the moment, probably from being unconscious for THREE FREAKING DAYS.
Once I thought of the most recent memory I could, I spoke. "I remember playing ( INSERT NAME OF LAST GAME PEWDS PLAYED BEFORE HE STARTED YOUTUBE HERE ) by myself in my room..."
The nurse nodded her head. "And this is the most recent thing you remember, correct?" "Yeah. I'm pretty sure." I answered honestly. I can't remember anything that happened after that. Suddenly, I began to get a headache. "Ouch.." I groaned, and put a hand on my head.
"Felix! What's wrong?" My mom frantically asked. The nurse rubbed the back of my hand and calmly explained, "Not to worry, Mrs. Kjellburg. This is normal, and a good sign. It mean his brain is trying to recover his lost memories."
My mom didn't seem too reassured, so I glanced at her and gave her a small smile. "I'm fine, Mum. Really." This is probably selfish of me to say, but I enjoyed their concern for me. It made me feel good to have a family that cares for me and supports me. I can't imagine what they must have went through, with their only son in a coma for 3 days. I don't want my mum to worry anymore, so I'll try and recover my memories as fast as possible.
Just then, the door creaked open and a white mask with a poker face poked it's head through the door.
"C-Can I come in?" the voice asked in a small, awkward voice.
"Come on in, Cry. Good to see you." my sister rushed to the door to open the door for the poker-faced stranger.
Once he entered the room, I looked at him in confusion. He had chocolate brown hair and wore a green hoodie with faded jeans and white vans. What was really odd was the white ceramic poker-face mask the stranger wore.
He looked like a half-dressed clown.
Plus, with a name like 'Cry,' he had to be a clown.
My sister noticed the look of confusion on my face. "Felix.. Do you know who he is?" my sister nervously asked.
I grinned and nodded at my sister. "Of course I know who he is."
Then, at my mom, I laughed and asked,
"Mom, this is nice and all, but I'm not a kid anymore. Don't you think I'm a little too old for clown visits in the hospital?"
