(Richie's POV)
I woke up at 6:30 AM the next morning. I forgot what my dream was about, like usual so I started getting ready instead of thinking about it.
I got dressed, combed my hair, and brushed my teeth and then ran downstairs.
I made a piece of toast and went in the garage.
I opened the garage door and left the house after shutting it again.
I walked to our bus stop thinking that Eddie would be there since it was 7:35 and the bus comes at 7:40.
'Where is he?', I thought.
I reached in my pocket and grabbed my phone. I ate my toast while I was texting Eddie.
"Are you coming to school today? You're late...", I texted him.
"I'm not going today, I'm sick.", he texted back.
"Okay, see you tomorrow?", I said.
"Maybe....I don't know yet?"
"Okay, I hope you get better,
Eds...", I texted.
No response back.

I put my phone back in my pocket. 'What's wrong with Eddie?', I thought.
The bus came a minute later, it stopped in front of me and I started walking to the bus. My usual seat was taken so I sat in seat 9 instead.
None of my friends are in my neighborhood except, for Eddie......
This isn't going to be a fun day.

(Eddie's POV)
Dear Diary, (8:00 AM, second day of school)
I'm so fucking done with this bitch. Now I can't go to school because of them, they ruined it. I mean, who even misses the second day of school that's so stupid. Also, they made me lie to my friends. Well, only Richie but he'll tell the rest of the losers that I'm "sick". You're probably wondering.....who is "them and they".....well, it's my fucking creepy-ass mom.

I woke up at 7:00, I was late... Fuck.
And then I realized....oh my god oh my god
'This is the latest I've waken up in years...', I thought.
I got ready really fast and then I went down stairs, my mom was downstairs. I could tell she was mad at me.
"I know, I know I'm late....Every single day I wake up so early and I'm really glad that I woke up kinda late today. It's been a while ,but anyways...I'm already ready for school so-", I said while being cut off by my mom.
"Eddie, It's 7:25, it's too late for school now...", she said.
"Mom, the bus comes at comes in 15 minutes....plus the bus stop is in front of our house...what are you talking about it's "too late"?", I asked.
"I'm mad at you, Eddie Bear. So, today you're going to stay with me and not go to school.", she said.
'I would like this idea if you weren't so fucking creepy', I thought.
"Well Mom, it's the law the go to school, and I still have time. Please....?", I asked.
"No, Eddie. Final answer.", she answered back at me.
Then, my phone beeped. I got a text from Richie....
"Let me see that!"
"My phone?", I asked.
"Yes, your phone. Give it to me."
"Um, Okay?", I said while handing it to her.
Then she read out loud Richie's text....
"Are you coming to school today? You're late.", she read.
"What should we say back?",she asked.
"No, no, no, no, no. Not "we". Just me.", I said.
"Well, tell him you're not going today.....say you're sick.", she said.
"Ughhhhh fine......", I said not wanting to agree with her.
"I'm not going today, I'm sick.", I read out loud while typing.
"Send it.",she hissed.
"I already did....", I said.
"What did he say back?", she asked.
She read it. He said, "Okay, see you tomorrow?"
Then, she grabbed my phone out of my hand and typed, "Maybe.....I don't know yet."
"Mom, this is my phone! Richie isn't texting you. He's texting me. Let me talk to him, please!", I yelled.
I grabbed my phone back and looked what Richie said back.
"Okay, I hope you get better, Eds."
"You made me lie to him! Why?", I asked.
"I don't like that boy. He doesn't deserve your truth.", she answered.
"Yes. Yes he does Mom. I lo-......He's my best friend!", I said.
After arguing a bit more I ran upstairs. It was 7:58. Basically 8:00. I grabbed my diary and wrote down everything.
