This is world is unlike our own, yet not all too alien I suppose.
Terminology is still mainly the same, continents are still continents, sometimes called Lands.
But Countries are called Kingdoms or Territories.
It isn't set in any specific time period, there's a lot of mixture, but there's nothing modern in it.
Although there will be a lot of talk about religion (Made up btw) and talk of certain powers, keep an open mind and take things as a grain of salt.
A little info on the 3 main kingdoms mentioned in this story:
The Kingdom
- weather fluctuates between autumn, summer and spring, but rarely gets cold.
- people place high value on physical appearance: clothes, skin, hair, weight (this forms one's reputation)
- less acknowledgment of education or status
- strictly adhere to their religion with blind faith
- fashion: resembles Victorian era style. Lots of ruffles and lace.
- they view thinness as the ultimate bodily beauty, as it makes people delicate, less threatening and shows "lack of greed" (to them)
- mainly people are pale, fair skinned, even with the heat. Often this is accomplished using bloodletting and covering up. Green, blue and hazel eyes are common. Blonde, red and light brown hair. Scandinavian appearance.
- kingdom of beauty and faith.
The Spring Palace
- weather is often hot, hotter than The Kingdom
- high value on warriors, strength, moral integrity and usefulness
- beauty is valued, but can be looked down on if they lack intelligence or usefulness.
- encourage fighting ability, independence and integrity.
- fashion: medieval. Less dress structure, more form fitting and practical. Embroidered and dyed.
- tanned to dark skin. Dark hair and eyes. Medium to tall heights with average to muscular builds. Ethnical appearance may appear (from our world) tanned Caucasian, of African descent or middle eastern.
- kingdom of strength and integrity
The Cold lands
- weather is often cold
- value wisdom, strength and beauty.
- reputation, of cultivation and birth, is very important. very competitive.
- fashion: traditional oriental
- wisdom is the most treasured, in second is both fighting ability and beauty
- pale to tan/gold skin. dark eyes, dark hair. Heights are small, average and tall. Builds are of any type. Monolid eyelids. Ethnical appearance Korean, Chinese and Japanese.
If you notice that some things, when reading, don't belong to certain cultures please shrug it off. This is a fantasy world, I'm just grabbing things from our world. Like clothes and names, perhaps some other things. It's not meant to be accurate. Often we use medieval/etc things from our world to cultivate fantasy worlds.
