Normal Day or so I thought

As Vance trudged through the dense wilderness, his mind full of thoughts he couldn't comprehend. This was his normal day. This so-called forest was his home. He had used it ever since his parents told him he was adopted. That was three months ago, and he still wonders who he is. But this day was the hardest he had faced. His mother and sister tragically died in a car crash. He just needed an escape. As he stomped on the leaves and branches he had finally reached his destination. An old run-down shed. He and his four friends had made it their home away from home. Though they were his best friends, all of them kept secrets. To be honest so did he. He hadn't told anyone that he was adopted, and he didn't plan to tell them about the tragic events that accrued in the early morning.

Vance walked through the door and sighed of relief. He collapsed on the floor, he put his head in his hands. Then a soft voice started to get louder, and louder. It was chanting words he didn't understand. His head suddenly jotted up. He looked around to see no one there. He got up on his feet. The voice wouldn't stop. To the point, it was screeching in his ear. He reached for his ear and found this sticky substance. It was blood. All of a sudden the creaky shed door swung open. In came Griffin. He was out of breath. It looked like he'd been running. The bottom of his worn-out blue jeans was ripped and covered with mud. So, were his old black boots. "Hey dude, I just heard a voice. It was super weird. It kept saying something but, I didn't listen. You know me. Then it started yelling. I then looked around and no one was there. It was creepy. My hand started to twitch. It felt like there was lightning inside of me!" Griffin exclaimed.

Vance looked at him confused. Then a sharp pain made its way through Vance's arm. He winced in pain. He pulled his sleeve up to reveal a fiery red arm. He touched it with his hand, and it was burning hot. Griffin was still going on about what just happened, he didn't even realize Vance was on the floor. " So yeah what do you think? Uh, dude are you okay?" Griffin questioned. "Does it look like I'm okay. My arm is red Griffin, It is red!" Vance screamed. " Okay chill dude, I once got frostbite. It can't be that bad." Griffin smiled reaching for Vance's arm. He put one finger on the throbbing red arm and retreated quickly. " You have one bad sunburn." Vance sighed and met Griffin's eyes. " Uh, Griffin since when did your eyes have lightning bolts in them?" Vance asked. Griffin looked panic. " What? Stop playing very funny Vance." Griffin said. They stared at each other form a minute and realized something was wrong.

Griffin and Vance rushed out of the old run-down shed. They both headed to the only person they would know any in tell on the sudden events. It was Crystal.  They bolted through the thick branches and leaves. Then all of a sudden Griffin dropped to the floor. Vance looked back to Griffin and his hand was lighting up. " Uh, dude there is electricity coming out of my hand. I'm freaking out." Griffin stared at his hand in fear.  Vance walked over to his fearful friend and asked," Can you get up? We have to ask Crystal about this." Griffin nodded and got to his feet. He struggled but he managed. They walked for what felt like hours. Finally, they reached a backyard. It was Crystal's backyard. They raced up to a small porch connected to a sliding glass door. Vance took the initiative to open the fragile glass door. They tiptoed up a delicate wooden staircase. They walked down a long hallway until they got to a light pink door. They opened it to see their friend on the floor.

Crystal's once perfectly bleach blond hair was a dark green mob of thin strands falling down her face. She was crying, no sobbing. " Crystal what's wrong," Griffin shouted. " What do you think is wrong idiot. My hair is green, green Griffin." At this point, she got up and she was so close to Griffin it looked like she was going to punch him right in the nose. "Okay Crystal you can come down," Vance said.  Vance was the adult of the group never doing childish things as the others did. He kept everyone in check. Vance walked over to Crystal and looked her in the eyes. She was a mess, but there was something different about her eyes. They were emerald green before they were light blue, blue as the sky on a clear day. Something was up, and Vance was going to find out what was happening, even if It kills him.
