Elizabeth

Ali and I were waiting at the hotel for the VMA's. We were in Los Angeles, and were headed to the Staples Cener for the awards. Ali was wearing a beautiful black lace dress, hugging her every curve. It fit perfectly with her girly-punk personality. She wore her hair pin-straight.

I was wearing a light pink dress. It had spaghetti straps that cris-crossed in the back, and the skirt, which hit above my knees, was all frilly, and full of tulle. I paired it with black peep-toe heels and a patent-leather clutch. My hair was half-up, half-down, and curled to perfection. I felt beautiful, even if it was not my night, but the boys'.

We got in the limo, and the driver dropped us at the red carpet. Ali and I waited over on the side with Eleanor, Megan and Perrie while the boys were interviewed.

"Well, you've all got an amazing video, and single, for that, matter, once again, how do you explain your success?" The woman asked.

"It's the fans, it really is." Louis said, "If the fans hadn't kept supporting us for the past six years, and kept buying our CD's and coming to concerts and cheering us on, we wouldn't be anywhere."

"Now, you guys are going on tour soon. Tell me more about that."

Zayn anwered. "Uh, yea, we're all just psyched to be able to go on another tour, and see all the fans. Performing live is probably all of our favorite parts of being in this business, so yea, we're all just so excited."

"And you'll all be leaving girlfriends behind, right?" They all nodded. "Louis, you're about to get married!"

"Yep, next week!" His face glowed.

"And Zayn, you and Perrie are still going strong." Zayn nodded. "Liam and Megan...then Harry and Niall have new girlfriends, can you tell us more?"

"Yea," Niall said, "They're, uh, both from Cleveland, Ohio, and we met them when we were touring down there a couple a monhs ago. They've been living in London going to uni, and it's all going really well. It's all cool.

"Are they excited to be back in America?"

Harry leaned into the microphone. "Yea, they've been excited to get back into a familiar culture and talk to American people, hear American accents all around them. They've definitely been showing us around."

"Their country, their rules, right?"

"Definitely." Niall said, laughing.

"Alright, well, it's been a pleasure to speak to all of you and good luck with all of your nominations tonight!" The boys thanked her and left.

Niall grabbed my hand. "Officially public, now, aren't we?" I said

"Looks like it." He gave me a quick peck on the lips. "Let's go inside." He led me inside. All the girls sat directly behind the boys, management ruled.

We cheered happily for all the other categories, and throughout the night, the boys won three other awards, but then it came down to the big one. Video of the Year. It was their first time being nominated for this award. They announced the nominees, and I leaned into Niall's ear.

"Nialler, you've had an amazing year, touring, and the single and the video. I couldn't be more proud to call myself your girlfriend, and I couldn't be more proud of you. Whatever happens, nothing will change. You'll still be a food-loving idiot. I'll still laugh at everything you say, and tomorrow, we will be going back to London, to continue with our more than perfect lives. You're amazing, and Ic ouldn't ask for a more incredible person in my life. You know that, right?"

He turned to me and kissed me. "Hold my hand." He said and I giggled. I put my hand on his shoulder, and he gripped it tight.

"And the winner for the VMA of Video of the Year is..." Rihanna went to open the envelope. She smiled as she saw who it was.

"ONE DIRECTION!" She shouted in the mic, and we all hopped up in cheers. Niall immediately turned to me and hugged me, and gave me a kiss.

"This is for you!" He smiled and went to hug and cheer with the boys. I jumped up and down, hugging Ali. Perrie, Megan and El were also celebrating with us. They went up to the stage and accepted their award. My hands flew to my mouth in awe and shock as I watched how happy they were.

"We just want to thank the fans for another amazing album, video, single, you guys are amazing and we will never thank you enough for all you've done for us!" Liam said.

"Thanks to everyone who voted and to everyone who played our song at some point somewhere." Harry said.

Niall took the mic, and poor baby, his hand was shaking uncontrollably. "Just a few quick shoutouts. Thanks to the fans, Lou Teasdale, Simon, Paul, Andy, all of our friends and family back home, Ali, Eleanor, Perrie, Megan and Elizabeth--you guys are amazing even when we aren't. If I forgot anyone, thank you to you, too. This is absolutely incredible, thank you!" He gave the mic to Rihanna and went backstage with the boys.

Paul escorted us backstage, and I saw Niall immediately. I ran up to him, and jumped in his arms. "Oh my god, Niall! This is incredible!" We just laughed and hugged.

"Come on, let's go back." He took my hand and we went straight across the red carpet. I heard someone shout my name, a reporter.

"Elizabeth! It's rumoured you're using Niall for his fame! What do you have to say about that?" Niall tried to pull me, but I stayed.

"Well, I'd say I'm damn proud to be called Niall Horan's girlfriend, but my goal is to make a name for myself, not have someone else make a name for me."

"Niall! Comments!"

"That sounds like something my girlfriend would say, the stubborn lass she is." He smiled and we got in the limo, ready to drive back to the hotel.

"I'm stubborn, am I?" I asked him in the car.

"As hard-headed as a donkey, you are."

"I am not!"

"In July, you sprained your ankle the week Ali was sick and couldn't help with the preteens' dance class. You went to the studio without a brace on and put on pointe shoes and danced. Then, that night you wore heels to go out to dinner."

"I had a job to do, and you can't not wear heels."

"You yelled at the hotel manager when he wouldn't get Eleanor the rectangular tables."

"That was a fluke."

"Elizabeth, you wake up every morning and deal with fans and hate and social media because of me, if that doesn't make you hard-headed, then I don't know what does."

"That's not too hard to do. I've got motivation." I kissed him.
