Fun with scoobies and mom's knowing secrets

     After everyone calmed down the teens and adults slowly made their ways into makeshift beds. When the house went completely still Buffy and Faith climbed out of bed and crept down stairs. Faith slid silently into bed with Jesse kissing his cheek as he wrapped his lanky arms around her waist. Buffy went down the stairs and shook Giles gently "Giles love come on let's go upstairs" he shook his head and pulled her down on the couch "to big of a risk love your mom could see us" Buffy pouted and curled into his side on the couch kissing his neck and face "And if she's sees us on the couch" Giles was silent for a moment deep in thought " you simply had a nightmare about you experiences tonight and needed a cuppa and we fell asleep talking" Buffy giggled and pulled him up "well I guess we need a drink then hot chocolate sounds good" Giles took her hand and allowed his slayer to lead him into the kitchen.  He watched her small body as she reached into cabinets and turned on the stove. Dipping his head to butterfly light kisses along her neck and shoulder. Giggling buffy leans back into Rupert as she stirs the chocolate mix until it's warm "Would you like a peppermint stick or anything else to go in your cocoa?" Buffy asked turning the stovetop off reaching to grab the sticks and mini marshmallows down from the cabinet "I'll take a stick please dear" he said watching her cute night shirt ride up as she got what she wanted. Buffy poured the cocoa into two mugs one for each of them dropping a stick in them both before adding little marshmallows to hers. They walked back into the living room sitting down on the couch Giles pulled Buffy into his side planting a kiss on the top of her head as she settled against him. Drinking their cocoa and cuddling they slowly drifted off to sleep the mugs half drank and lay forgotten on the table as dream land pulled them in.
   Joyce walked down the stairs the next morning to promptly stop in her tracks "What is the meaning of this!" She shouted in anger thinking the man her age was taking advantage of her oldest daughter. Buffy and Giles woke with a start and the other Scoobies and the vampire came running into the living room "Mom I can explain it's not what it looks like just please listen " Buffy hurried out sitting fully back up. Joyce eyed her daughter and the man warily "I couldn't sleep because of what happened last night Giles was still awake and we drank hot chocolate and helped me calm down we must have passed out on accident from the exhaustion of the fight I'm sorry mom we weren't doing anything wrong though." Joyce eyed them cautiously trying to find a lie but couldn't and said" I'm sorry Mr. Giles but it's strange to walk downstairs and see my teenage daughter cuddled up with a man my age thank you for comforting her last night although if there's a next time Buffy you go back up to your room understood?" Using a tone only a mother could Buffy nodded and hugged her mom as Giles wiped his glasses "I apologize Ms. Summers I would've sent her back up if I had realized we were about to fall asleep" Joyce nodded and went into the kitchen the Scoobies,Watcher and slayer all following behind the youngest summers sister already sitting at the table. Joyce and the girls worked together on breakfast serving up pancakes, eggs and sausage as Giles boiled water for tea grabbing the leaves, cream and sugar as it finished helping set the table. As they sat down and helped themselves to a plate and tea Giles squeezed Buffys hand under the table as he said "Ms. Summers I'm sure you have lots of questions your daughter and I will answer as many as possible"  Joyce stared for a minute taking a deep breath before asking "What happened last night?" Angel perked up at the question and was the only one at the table not eating food he looked from Buffy and Giles to Joyce Buffy gave a small nod with a glare letting him know not to say to much. "I think I can answer that one. You see I'm a vampire that was cursed with a soul the first night I sensed the slayer in town I had to scope it out to see if she could protect us from my grandsires plans for the world which would've turned into a big hell dimension. I followed her and her friends to the bronze and watched her til she got tired of me following her and the watcher and slayer attacked until I told them about my soul they didn't believe it outright so they had my chained in his bathtub til they did a spell that proved I was being honest then they released me. I told them about the master vampires plan and the slayer and her groupies along with the watcher made a plan that we did last night three of the team were left here to protect you and the little one and three of us went with buffy to the lair." He looked at buffy thinking it better for her to finish explaining the fight.
"We went down into the lair Angel and Faith fought the other vampire and Giles and I took on the master at one point I got too close and he grabbed me, drank from me and dropped me in a puddle of it wasnt for Giles doing cpr I wouldve died last night but I got back up and staked his batfaced ancient ass and now I'm home safe and sound" Joyce made a face crossing between the pain of almost losing her oldest duaghter and anger that she couldnt do anything to prevent it from happening. "Thank you Mr. Giles for protecting and saving my daughter what can I do to help" "No mom I dont want you to get hurt" "You're my daughter and I'm not going to sit around while you go out and fight for your life every night so young lady you sit down right now and let the man tell me what I can do to ensure that you and Dawn are safe or so help me you'll be grounded til the vampire forget slayers even exist!" Joyce said forcefully slamming her hand down on the table. Giles rubbed his glasses not wanting his slayer to be upset but also not wanting to give her mother a reason to pull her away from him  either "We train everyday after school in the library you and Dawn are welcome to join us" Joyce nodded before standing from the table and washing her plate others soon following as they went and got ready for the day some calling parents and letting them know they were safe and at a friend's house. Walking outside the couple sat on the front porch thinking deeply "I know you don't want her involved dear but they'll have better chances at survival if they know what's out there and how to fight it you won't always be right there to protect them" Giles said gently putting his hand on her shoulder giving it a soft squeeze "I know I just- I don't like it ok they shouldn't have to worry because of me" she leaned against her watcher soaking up the comfort his firm body gave her "I fear I should go home before your mother catches on to how we are together I'll see you tonight for patrol" giving her a quick peck on the lips he walked to his car and drove home. Buffy sighed before standing and walking in enjoying time with her friends and family but missing her lover.
