There she was...laying there in her bed dying. I could not have helped her. Momma had been sick for almost a year. I think it was time to go. Daddy walked in looking pissed as always. Pretty sure even with a good life he would never smile. I know he thought I was a disappointment but he could at least try to smile, not make it so obvious that he wished I wasn't alive. Speaking of alive someone was dying basically in my arms. He had beer in one hand and a cigar in his mouth. He honestly looked like he could care less that his wife was dying. He came in yelling at me for some stupid bullshit that he caused. He quickly became silent after seeing me already crying, he looked at the bed at mother. He did what I was doing... he was crying. I looked at him confused as he walked closer to me with his arm out. He put it
around me gently and his other hand was in mother's. Her eyes slowly started to close her skin was getting a little more cold and pale. I just stood there and cried like a moroon. "Honey... mom is gone." Daddy said wiping tears from his big bright blue eyes. He looked at me and just apologized for everything single little thing. "Father is she really gone?" He looked at me and just nodded. I slowly hugged him for a moment then pulled away and walked out my mother's room down the hall to mine. The next morning was miserable, daddy was already gone when I woke up which meant I had a lot to do today. First I made me some breakfast and fed the dog. Mom was gone I knew dad had taken her to be buried where she had wanted. I could see him putting her body in a hole out by her favorite willow tree. I wiped the blur from my eyes as I walked outside a the basket ready to go get eggs. Father saw me and dropped the shovel by the well buried hole and walked toward me. He kept walking as I was walking away causing him to speed up. I hopped in the wagon and walked then, trotted away.*more coming soon*
