The silence that fell in my ears once i woke up. Nothing seemed off at first, but a few seconds later, i realised, it was too quiet. My eyes roamed around the room, in hopes of finding out, why this feeling was overwhelming me, but quickly giving up. I got ready for school like normal. The silence overruled by the music from my computer.

As i walked out of my apartment building, the sun shining brightly, the walkway empty, it was the usual, especially early in the morning. Getting to school only took me a few minutes, i tried opening the door, however, it was locked. That was unusual, i texted my friend, in hopes of getting an answer. But to no avail, there was no answer, the bad feeling overwhelming me. I tried texting my best friend in hopes of getting this feeling gone. Once again there was no answer, it was unusual, since she would usually be on the bus this time around getting to school.

I walked back home, no car was on the road, the feeling at the pit of my stomach worsening. This reminded me of a book i once read, a protagonist waking up, alone in the world. However, that was fiction, this was reality, at least it seemed like it. Opening my front door i walked around the house, even my cat was gone.

I walked outside to the parking space, my mothers car still there. What happened, was the first thought I had, there was just no way that everyone just disappeared, and there's no possible way that all humans disappeared but i was the only one left, that wouldn't make sense.

After walking for a bit i decided to go back home, see if i could seek help online. All posts were dated to two weeks ago. "This makes no sense" i said to myself, my hands trembling as i scrolled on my timeline. My shaky fingers clicking on the 'make a new tweet' button. Quickly typing a sentence and clicking 'tweet' the few sentences held my last hopes. 5 minutes, 10 minutes of constant refreshing, nothing, no answer. I decided to go on different posts and comment underneath them. Nothing. After trying all the methods my anxious brain could come up with, i gave up. No one was answering, no matter what method i tried.

I decided to go outside once again, in hopes of finding someone. As i walked in the neighbourhood near my apartment block, i realised i hadn't tried going into anyone's house, if it was a normal day i would never have done that, however, this was something i needed to do for my mental stability. As i walked towards the nearest brick house a movement caught my eyes. The nervousness in my stomach getting stronger and a bad feeling mixed with hope surfacing in the pit of my stomach. The 'thing' was sitting in the shadow between the two houses, as it slowly turned to me, i noticed it's eyes. Black with a hint of green shine. Those weren't normal amongst 'humans' the 'thing' stopped moving, i noticed that it didn't just have a pair of hands, it had 2 pairs of hands. It slowly walked towards me from the shadows, my breath getting caught un my throat, my heart beating so fast i thought i would faint. As i started backing up, it started walking towards me, my voice couldn't come out, and even if it did it wouldn't help. I turned around and ran towards the house on the other side of the road, the 'thing' was luckily slower than in horror movies.

My hands shaking from the fear and anxiousness opened the door, i ran inside and locked the door. The bad feeling never leaving me. I ran around the house in search of a weapon, and as i opened a drawer in the nearest room, there laid a gun. "Aren't these illegal?" I asked myself as i took it onto my hands. Suddenly a noise from downstairs caught my wandering attention. "Nope, this can't be happening." I said to myself, i knew it wasn't a human, and i was definitely not checking it out. I looked out the window, luckily it wasn't that far down. I looked at the bed sheets on the bed. "How the hell do the movies make it look so easy?" I whispered as i tried tying the bedsheets together to make my master escape plan.

As i threw the bedsheet rope out the window, the noise was getting closer to the room i was in. "Shit." I whispered as i quickly tried getting down, the gun safely tucked in my bag.
