"Mommy, can I play in the snow?" little Willow asked.
"Sure sweetheart. Oh and don't wander into the forest. There are dangerous Pokémons living in there and since you don't have any Pokémons to protect you, it is even more dangerous. So be careful, honey." her mother warned.
The little girl gave her a lopsided grin. "I will mommy."
"Okay then, Willow. Go change your clothes first." Her mother ruffled her hair affectionately.
Willow put on her winter attire and stepped out into the snowy wonderland. Her scarf billowed in the icy winds as she started to play with the snow. White covered every single spot as far as the eye can see and small specks snow were falling lightly.
Faint mewls caught her attention and curiosity got the best of her. She scampered off to find the source of the sound. It seemed to be coming from the forest.
Well only one way to tell, she thought to herself.
Forgetting her mother's warning, she started heading towards the forest.
As she neared the entrance of the forest, the sounds became louder. Suddenly, a blur of white tackled her to the ground. A crunching sound was made when she landed on the snow-covered ground.
At first Willow was too scared to see what had collided with her but she was surprised when something wet began to drag itself around her face. An alolan vulpix was sitting on top of her fallen self while licking her face. She giggled and began to pet the Pokémon's furry head.
Then, another three Pokémons of the same kind came hurdling towards her, tails wagging playfully.
Unbeknownst to them, danger was lurking around the corner. In fact, it was just staring at them with hunger in its eyes.
As they continued to play, they treaded dangerously close to the lair of the monster.
Willow dashed through the snow as her Pokémon playmates chased her. She was having too much fun to notice the stray rock on her track. She tripped and let out a yelp.
She fell, face first, into the snow. As she laid there, she could feel the group of alolan vulpixes sniffing her. She couldn't help herself and let out a muffled laugh at how ridiculous she probably looked like now.
Then, confusion overtook her when she heard whimpers emanating from the six-tailed ice foxes. She raised her head slightly and saw the shadow of a looming figure. She looked up to see the a maw full of razor sharp teeth mere inches from her.
Quickly realizing the danger she was in, she sprung up to her feet and took several steps back. Taking a defensive stance, she stood protectively in front of her newly found friends.
The Pokémon was a carnivine, her mother had warned of this particular Pokémon as it seemed to be the most common one in the forest. It is rather odd that a grass type would reside in a naturally snowy area as it is weak towards ice type. The grass type Pokémon stared at her for a moment, seemingly analyzing her.
Without warning, one of it's sharp whip like vine struck her across her right leg. She screamed in pain, falling to the ground while clutching her now wounded leg. Three long bloody furrows were present along the side of her leg, slowly oozing blood.
Seeing her injured, the alolan vulpixes sprung into action, surrounding protectively and growling at the carnivine.
The opposing Pokémon hissed and snapped its maw, latching it on one of the vulpix and it threw it back like a rag doll. Enraged, Willow gathered up snow and launched it towards the side of the carnivine's head.
