"So, what are we doing this Christmas? Jingle bells and all that fun stuff. You must be excited to be here yet again. You haven't been here mush," Maya said and Riely smiled.
"I actually wish I could be with Lucas but hey. You get what you get," Riley said.
"Hey, be lucky. You're very privileged to be able to have this. You could have had the life that I am currently stuck with. A mother who doesn't care much. Be lucky for everything you have," Maya said as she went out of the room.
She exhaled as she went to sit down in the backyard as Josh came along.
He sighed seeing the young girl truly sad and went to sit down next to her.
"And here we go into that time of the year yet again. Somehow this isn't the best time for me," Maya said.
"I know it is. But you have to stay strong. Maybe you can still make it better. It's your choice what to make with your life, Maya. Not other people's. Yours," Josh said as Maya look at him.
"I know," Maya said.
"Do everything in your power to prevent it from happening the way you predict. Make it change," Josh said and Maya smiled as he went back inside.
