A/N: Hello! I'm back with more Kageyama because I'm biased towards him and I felt like writing some fluff with this blue-eyed wonder. I hope you like it. Sorry in advance if Kags is a little OOC.

Rocking from left to right, you sat on the left-hand side of the doors, traveling along unfamiliar roads. Your brain wanted to take this chance to daydream and rest from the taxing journey you had so far. Despite the tiredness, you resisted letting your eyelids flutter closed for even a few seconds, forcing the orbs behind them to study the map where the lines overlapped at every bus stop.

Chatter and gossip were heard behind you with voices rising and blending between a ritual of students and businessman alike. Some would drown themselves with the top 40 music of the week but you weren't going to let yourself grab your phone from its pocket prison.

You couldn't risk being whisked away to poppy tunes and syncopated melodies. You didn't want to get lost in a new, strange place, especially when your bus ride was striking through the bustling street life of Tokyo.

"(L/N)-senpai, you're not coming to cheer us on?" The flamboyant first-year jumped at you while you were taking your lunch break in your homeroom.

"No, Hinata. I guess, no one asked me to so..."

"Really? Not even Kageyama?"

You shook your head. "Nope but I guess that's expected from him. You and I both know he's not one to ask things like that."

That was what you told yourself to avoid the pessimistic chain of thought that your mind had a special talent in.

You first met Kageyama when you were hanging out with your best friend, Kiyoko-san after school, waiting for volleyball practice to end. While you were there, watching volleyball drift across the gym, your eyes caught on to a show-stopper serve being directed at the harsh corner of the court.

Your eyes gleamed.

Spanning over to the opposite side, you saw a boy with a stern gaze, huffing and puffing while he proceeded to pick up one of the stray volleyballs next to him. You remembered him, not being very pleased with that particular serve which you found intriguing as you were blown away by it, even if it wasn't his best one.

You wished you could do something incredible like that but that seemed impossible.

Kiyoko noticed how starry-eyed you were and it was at that moment, where you found yourself with a matchmaker.

Forced to talk to him and compliment him, Kiyoko gradually helped you converse with the first-year setter, from saying hello when walking down the school corridors to asking him out on a simply-implied date which he, to your surprise, accepted.

A month later, the two of you were close but you were still cautious. You knew he wasn't one for being romantic or sentimental but it would be nice to know who you were to him.

A friend? A senpai? Something more?

While the team was saying their temporary goodbyes, the male just waved at you. No hug. No shy kiss on the cheek. No smile. Just a wave from inside a bus to take them to nationals.

You were starting to think you were faced with unrequited love.

Despite that, you felt guilty for not showing up to even cheer for one of their matches. Even if Kageyama thought you didn't need to come, you owed it to the third-years you've been friends with for years now.

Acknowledging the bus stop you needed to exit to, you rang the bell and felt the bus decelerate to a halt. Thanking the driver, you grabbed your bag and stepped off the bus after tugging your hair strands from the little girl, sitting behind you, playing with it for the entire bus ride.
