"And that class, is how you can easily remedy someone from being poisoned," Professor Slughorn said as he ended Potions class.

As the students cheerfully stood up to leave, Professor Slughorn added, "Enjoy your Halloween, class!"

"Samantha," Professor Slughorn suddenly blurted. Sam was almost at the door.

"Yes, Professor?" Sam asked.

"Mind if I can have a quick word with you?"

Sam nodded and looked at Hermione. Hermione kissed her cheeks and whispered, "I'll wait for you outside."

When all the students had finally left the classroom, Professor Slughorn then spoke, his face so stern and serious, "Professor Babbling happened to mention your mother used to work for Magical Congress of the USA."

Sam swallowed a lump. She licked her lips nervously then she muttered, "Yes, Professor. She was an Auror."

"Such awful tragedy that had happened to her. My condolences, Samantha."

"Oh, no, it's okay, Professor. You don't have to be. It's been a long time now."

"Truly, time heals everything," he said. Then he sighed. "I'm having a party tomorrow night. For Halloween. Just a simple exclusive party with a few friends and colleagues. You're very welcome to join..."

"Oh, it's fine, Professor," Sam answered, surprised. "I... I don't. . I'm not sure..."

"You can invite Miss Granger along, if you like," he added as he walked around his table and grabbed a couple of vials.

"He specifically said exclusive, right?" Hermione asked in a whisper as they looked around Professor Slughorn's office magically turned into somewhat festive for a Halloween party.

There were a couple of guests around. About fifteen or twenty. Sam recognized a few Slytherins in there. And Hermione almost backed out when she saw a vampire.

The moment Professor Slughorn noticed their arrival, he grabbed two tall glasses of Butterbeer and headed towards their direction.

"If it isn't the brilliant couple Miss Malfoy and Miss Granger," Professor Slughorn greeted, handing them the drinks.

Hermione's cheeks turned red and Sam awkwardly smiled back.

"I have some very important people for you to meet," he added as he led them straight into the center of the room.

After a couple of conversations with some retired Aurors and a couple of Ravenclaw students in the party, Sam grabbed Hermione's hand as they secretly walked away without anyone noticing.

"You want me to get you another glass of Butterbeer?" Sam asked.

"A glass of water will be fine," Hermione said, smiling weakly.

Sam left Hermione to get her water. When she returned a couple of seconds later, some tall guy with brown hair and broad shoulders was talking to Hermione. My Hermione, Sam said to herself.

Sam forced a cough, interrupting their conversation. The guy seemed to look at Sam with much annoyance.

"Oh, Sam, this is Cormac McLaggen," Hermione said. "Cormac, Samantha Malfoy."

Sam extended her hand to Cormac. Cormac shook it as well. "Draco's sister, huh."

Samantha nodded. "I'm also Hermione's girlfriend."

Cormac widened his eyes and laughed. "Sorry, I didn't realize that..."

Hermione then went on. "Cormac here is from Gryffindor."
