Girl Meets Philadelphia Part 3

Maya looked over as all of the Matthews opened presents trying to remember what Christmas was like for her before her father had died.
She knew it was just getting further and further and didn't want any of what was happening to end.
She stood up from where she was sitting on went outside.
The cold wind was surely something she never thought she could get used to but she did love in New York so it was nothing too big.

"You're gonna freeze," Josh said throwing a blanket over her.
"Thank you," Maya said.
"Why you keeping yourself at a distance?" Josh asked and Maya exhaled.
"Only thing I know how to do. It's weird. Somehow it's the first time in a long while that I am around people that I love and adore and who cares about me. This has almost never happened. My mother didn't even think twice before she send me here. Shows what she thinks of having a daughter. She blames me for my father. For him not being here," Maya said as Josh turned Maya so she could face him.
"Your mother is an idiot for thinking a three year old could have anything to do with her father's death. She's just trying to make you feel quilty. It's not your fault," Josh said and Maya nod.

Josh lifted Maya's chin lightly up as he pressed his lips on hers.
For a second the world stood still as she couldn't even imagine how her life could go on even further.
Her first kiss with her first love and she couldn't ask for more.
