Chapter 11

It's two weeks before their wedding. The school year was done and she busied herself with all the wedding preparations with the help of her mother and her mother in law. They decided to have a garden wedding with only 200 guests. They wanted it to be simple yet intimate. They had compromised with their parents that wanted to have a huge wedding. So they settled with 200 guests.

She started to go to the dermatologist for skincare routines every week since last month. EJ on the other hand, became busier with work but he makes sure that he makes time for her. He was trying to finish up deals with other companies before their wedding day. He is planning to bring Kristine to The Caribbean for their honeymoon.

It was Friday afternoon when he called her to meet up for lunch since he finished his work earlier than he expected. They met at the restaurant in the city proper and had lunch. Next they went to the beach where the walked hand in hand while they were barefoot. It was quite relaxing for both of them since they were working really hard with the company and with the wedding. They sat on the sand and waited for the sun to set.

"I like this." She said while looking at him.

"Us? Walking by the beach?"

"Hmm." She leaned her head to his shoulder and inhaled the sea breeze.

She fell asleep with her head on his shoulder. EJ looked at her and kissed the tip of her nose. He didn't move and just watch the sun as it goes down. Kristine woke up when she felt that they were moving. She opened her eyes and she was on the passenger seat of EJ's car.

"Awake?" EJ glanced at her.

"Yes. What time is it?" She said while stretching her arms up.

"It's half-past seven. Let's grab some dinner then I'll drop you home."

"Fine with me. I'm quite hungry Mr. Rivera." she placed her left hand on EJ's thigh and smiled at him.

EJ knows what his fiance is up to and he would not give in to his desires. He tried really hard to contain himself while driving until they reached the restaurant. They arrived at the restaurant and dined there.

For the past week they would go out on dates, spend time together and do the wedding preparations together. They were practically together the whole time. It was the week of their wedding date and their friends threw them a bachelor's party and bachelorette party. His set of friends rented out a bar for the night and had a wild party there. They drank, danced and one of EJ's friends hired a stripper for that night. He denied the stripper's offer to have sex in a nice manner.

"Nah, I'm saving it for Kristine." The stripper continued to dance in front of his friends. They had fun but he did not drink a lot so he knows what was happening around him. Josh, Ron, Frank and his other male co-teachers before were there too. After that night he went home feeling tipsy and went to bed immediately. He woke up with a bad headache the next morning, so he decided to make a cup of coffee.

He went to his kitchen, to his surprise he saw Kristine preparing breakfast for him. She turned around when she felt someone staring at her. "Hey! You're up." She strode to EJ and gave him a peck on his lips.

"Come sit down. Breakfast is ready." She set up the table and put their plates there. She cooked bacon, eggs, fried rice, and cut some fresh fruits. EJ went to the coffee maker and made two mugs of coffee. He sat across Kristine and looked at her.

"What time did you arrive here?" He asked while cutting the eggs on his plate.

"I was here around 7. You were still in a deep sleep that you didn't even hear me arrive." She smiled at him sweetly and continued to eat.
