"Oh thank god" Deacon muttered as he spotted Leanne at the back of the bus. He swung in beside her and said a quick hello as he popped in an earbud.
"This is gonna be a good trip" Leanne laughed as Deacon plastered on the look™.
"asdfg I don't wanna go if I see him he might shoot me" Deacon whined
"lucky" Leanne retorted
The two chatted, which made the bus journey go much quicker than Deacon would have liked.
"That went quick" Deacon remarked as the bus slid to a halt
"Finn doesn't have the emotional capacity to write a whole conversation" Leanne explained.

The pair awkwardly stood, Deacon banging his big brain™ on the bus roof. As they stepped off, the great office block loomed menacingly in front of them. Deacon wished to god the ground would swallow him. The group stepped towards the grey building...

A cheerful receptionist welcomed them into a high ceilinged room. A bubbly looking lady bounced into the room.
"Hiya friends! My names Elizabeth, but you all can call me Lizzy because we're going to be such good friends! I'm going to show you kiddos around this wonderful place that I work! I know you guys just love maths, so maybe when you leave boring school you can come work at this fantastic place! I'm sure that none of you are naughty at all, but just make sure you follow our rules! " she began to list rules in a condescending tone as all the teens collectively cringed.

The tour was, In a word, boring. Every element of maths that the students would have enjoyed had been  dumbed down to a year 2 level. Relief only came when the class headed to the cafeteria for lunch. Deacon picked up a sandwich and went to sit next to leanne, who had brought her own lunch. They were idly chatting when deacon was cut off mid sentence.

"Deacon? You with us" leanne waved her hand in front of his face, before turning to see what he was staring at.
