PART 18

EXT. Athens – Day

Fire falls from the sky as the flames can be seen burning Olympus to the ground. POSEIDON stands on top of the Temple of Athena. He wears all white.

POSEIDON

Athens! Let I, The Great POSEIDON, save you! Your day of trial from these gods will end.

POSEIDON grins and throws his trident, it grows larger and larger on the way up to Olympus.

EXT. OLYMPUS- DAY

The burning buildings are beginning to topple over. The trident hovers over the burning buildings and begins to spin. The gods Water expels from the huge trident as the flames extinguish quickly. The gods trying their best to contain the flames look at the trident and smile. The tremendous flames cease. Only some burn marks remain.

EXT. Athens – Day

The flames falling from Olympus evaporate before hitting Athens.

People in soaked clothing cheer. They look up to the Temple of Athena to see POSEIDON and scream his name.

ALL

Thank you, POSEIDON!

POSEIDON grins at his people. He knows he did well. They love him now.

ZEUS' chariot can be seen flying down to the temple. It hovers ahead of him, slightly up.

ZEUS

It looks like I was wrong about you.

POSEIDON looks at his brother.

POSEIDON

I want a seat at the table.

ZEUS

Done. A council must be held very soon. But first, can we get behind closed doors.

POSEIDON opens a portal. The two enter.

INT. POSEIDON'S THRONE ROOM

POSEIDON sits while ZEUS stands and stares outside at the water.

ZEUS

So, you caused it?

POSEIDON

I am sorry, brother. It had to be done. There was nothing I could do.

ZEUS puts out a hand.

ZEUS

No explanation necessary.

POSEIDON looks on shocked.

ZEUS turns around.

ZEUS(CONT'D)

You should have been the patron god, those people needed to be cleansed.

POSEIDON

How did you know I did it?

ZEUS

I found Harry in the great hall, lighting it ablaze. I can be quite the negotiator. Needless to say, he has a spot at the table as well. I am sorry for the marginalization that I have shown you two.

POSEIDON rubs the back of his head.

POSEIDON

Well, goodness, I am really glad to hear that from you. I am sorry too.

ZEUS

No... I'm sorry.

ZEUS extends his hands as lightning bolts strike out from his fingers. They hit POSEIDON. POSEIDON evaporates from his chair, leaving nothing. The trident clanks to the ground.

ZEUS walks over to the chair. He picks up the trident from the ground.

ZEUS

I guess I didn't specify the table you will have a place at. Maybe you'll be patron god of the Styx.

The trident evaporates.
