Leanne jogged out of the toilet, wiping her wet hands on her trousers. She spotted Mr Hegarty and Francis walking to his office and ran to join them. In silence they opened the office door.
Deacon was sleeping now, which was odd, his head lolling to one side.
"Deacon. Deacon! Wake up god damn it! Were back!" She walked over and shook his shoulder. His head lolled backwards.
"AAAHHHH" Leanne suddenly screamed, shaking the whole room.
Thin marks lined Deacons neck, and warm breath was gone from his cheeks.
"Oh my god" whispered Francis "He's dead!"
Leanne was now in tears, still shaking Deacons shoulder and howling.
"This is no accident" Mr Hegarty announced
Leanne suddenly looked up, as if she had an epiphany.
"It was one of you" she whispered, before repeating louder. "You carrying around your rope, you snuck in while I was in the toilet and killed him didn't you"
"No I would never!" Francis sharply spoke.
"No not you, Mr Hegarty! You hate him because of 2017!You were going to kill him, but you waited until we were gone!" Leanne yelled
"Wait I... When I got to your room dad, you arrived after I did. I didn't think much of it, but you left before me. What were you doing?" Francis said with a contemplative look on his face.
"I was simply in the toilet" Mr Hegarty said smoothly, too smoothly.
"No, I was in the toilet, I would have seen or heard you but I didn't" Leanne accused.
"I-I went in a different toilet" Stuttered Mr Hegarty, who was beginning to sweat.
"You-you killed my best friend" Leanne broke down into sobs again.

Francis was the one who called the police.

Leanne wasn't dealing with this very well, which was fair. Francis pulled her into a tight hug. She buried her head into his hair, still weeping.

Hidden from the world, Leanne allowed herself a little smile.
