Chapter 1 ~ Carnival of Rust

Barry was currently running through Central City hoping to have a quiet day today, unbeknownst to him that there was a dangerous force overlooking Central City and its inhabitants like a vengeful god.

"Barry theres a fire at Mercury Labs, the place is coming down fast" Cisco called out to him through the earpiece as Barry began running into the burning inferno to save any of the remaining staff.

As he got everyone to safety there was a yell, it was another man. It sounded like..."dad?.." Barry muttered out softly just before charging up into the building to look for his father "Dad!? I'm here" Barry called out as he saw a man hunched over, holding his stomach in pain.

"Son I'm here" the voice called out to him, just as Barry laid his hand on the figure's shoulder the man began to vibrate, this wasn't Henry Allen.

Before Barry could react, the man span around and roundhouse kicked Barry clean across the jaw, sending him back to the floor, the man had been covering his jaw with some sort of protective face mask. He was a speedster and nothing like Barry has seen before.

"Who are you!?" Barry yelled out to him as the figure spoke with his normal voice however his vocals were now being vibrated. "Savitar, the god of speed" the man told him as Barry struggled to get up. "Wait...that's the name my...what do you know about Sebastian Allen?!" Barry yelled up at the figure.

Savitar scoffed softly "that man? He's dead, killed when the particle accelerator exploded that night. But that wasn't the only thing that killed him that night, someone on your precious team flash murdered him, I'll let you think about that." Savitar chuckled coldly before charging at him, making them both fall from the open window as both speedsters went blow for blow just before hitting the hard ground.

Barry growled loudly as he struggled to get his composure before Savitar leaped onto him vibrating his hand above his heart "I want so badly to kill you but I just have to wait a little while longer, tear you and your team apart piece by pie-" Savitar was cut off by one of the staff pushing him off Barry before slowly backing away.

Savitar leaped up, grabbing ahold of the young man and staring at Barry with a smirk  "what a loss this will be, I guess his wife and kids will just have to move on without him" he growled slightly before thrusting his vibrating hand into the man's chest, crushing his heart and dropping him to the floor.

"NO!" Barry bellowed as both himself and Savitar sped all over the grounds, only looking like bright orange and white blurs, speeding all around the staff as Savitar tripped Barry up and ran him to the wall, pinning him by his throat "Think very carefully about who you can trust, they might just take away your life" Savitar growled in a low voice just as he sped off, leaving Barry weak and confused about who this new speedster could possibly be.

If only he knew...
