ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRST- ring ring. "Hey Kris what's up?" I exclaimed. Kris hasn't called in forever because she's been packing all week for California and she finally got there yesterday.
"Um what is going on over there" she laughed.
"Ugh Ben is finally learning his ABC's and he won't stop singing! Like I'm soooo glad he's come this far but it's so annoying. My dad says things like 'look at your brother! Who could get sick of that!' Or 'now come on it's not his fault don't blame him'. I just can't right now." I said tiredly.
"I'm sorry sis that sucks" Said Kris.
"Eh it's ok." I said tiredly.
"Anyways, how's California! It's amazing right?! You HAVE to be loving it." I said all cheery. It's been years since my last California trip. It was incredibly beautiful.
" I don't know it's amazing you're right but I wish you were here with me. I miss you" we honestly had a plan to get me to California somehow in some way but her parents heard us strategizing and banned all fun at her house until the trip. Classic parents.
"Aww you're too sweet, miss you too! You have to send me pictures!" Come on Addie just say it. Say what you ask? Let me explain.
Kris and I met at summer camp 5 years ago going into 8th grade. Well it wasn't summer camp, it was more of a "straight is the only way!" camp. After my mom died, my dad got sick of me and my 'disrespecting the family' so he sent me to get 'fixed'. I regret telling my parents that I was Bi with every fiber of my being. My mom though, she was amazing. She supported me through and through even though my dad was like the polar opposite of her opinion. She said "if it makes your heart happy then it makes me happy". I miss that so much. I miss her so much. Over the years I've fallen for Kris, and when I fall, I fall hard. It hasn't gotten any easier to hide it. I just need to find out how to tell her.
"Listen Kris I got to go, sorry! Ben has a bit of a problem..." I wearily exclaimed
"ok that's fine! Tell Ben I said hi and give him lots of hugs and tickles from me!" She said in a sweet, high pitched voice.
"Ok I will haha, OH and send lots and lots of picks for me!"
"Will do bestie, see yah." "Bye!" - "next time won't you sing with meeeee" ugh.
